摘要： An image forming apparatus performs the printing in any of a copy mode, a facsimile mode and a print mode, having a sorter for sorting ejected sheets, wherein the operation is controlled suitably for each mode when the number of sheets stored in a bin of said sorter is over the upper limit. An image forming method using a plurality of bins, and a counter for counting the number of sheets stored in each bin, includes interrupting the print if the number of sheets stored in the bin is over the upper limit in the copy mode, and continuing the print and switching the bin, in the printer and facsimile mode, if the number of sheets is over the upper limit.

摘要： An optically inactive mesomorphic compound represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R denotes a linear or branched alkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms or a linear or branched alkoxy group having 1-18 carbon atoms; and m is an integer of 2-18, is suitable as a component for a liquid crystal composition providing improved response characteristics and a high contrast. A liquid crystal device is constituted by disposing the liquid crystal composition between a pair of substrates. The liquid crystal device may preferably be used as a display panel constituting a liquid crystal apparatus providing good display characteristics.

The lands are provided with recesses (20) in the depths of each of which progressively increase from the first margin towards the second margin. A sub cutting edge (21) is formed on the edge line where the end relief surface meets the wall surface of the recess (20) which faces forwardly as viewed in the direction of the tool rotation.
