    摘要: Cellular mobile communication system includes a plurality of base stations connected to a relay station, each base station having adaptability for coping with change in traffic volume within a relevant cell covered thereby. Each base station includes a variable gain power amplifier for amplifying a pilot signal and a power control circuit for controlling the gain of the power amplifier. The power control circuit controls gain of a pilot signal sending power in accordance with a control signal supplied from a device installed in a relay station for monitoring traffic states of the individual base stations. The relay station issues a command for lowering the power gain for the base station which covers a traffic-concentrated cell while raising the power gain for the base stations covering the neighboring cells, to thereby contract the size of the traffic-concentrated cell. With a smaller number of base stations, communication demand can be controlled over a broad area.

    摘要: An error correcting system for performing error correction for error codewords received sequentially in a codeword string on a pipeline processing basis. The system comprises a processing block for generating syndrome data on the basis of parity symbols of each of the codewords, a processing block for performing logical processing operation to derive error locations and error values on the basis of the syndrome data, and a processing block for performing correcting operation for delayed codewords based on the error locations and values. These three processing blocks start their processing operation when receiving individual control signals based on reset signals indicative of leading heads of the respective codewords in the string and delayed by mutually different delay times. With regard to incomplete ones of the codewords that are shorter than a right correct codeword length, the logical processing operation for the error location and error evaluation as well as the error correcting operation is inhibited.

    摘要: In CDMA communications, a base station detects a difference between a reference phase of a spreading code and a phase of a received signal of each terminal station, and feeds a phase jump signal PJ-i representative of the phase difference back to each terminal station. After timing acquisition, the reception operation is performed using the reference phase, and a shift amount between the phase of a received signal and the reference phase is fed back to each terminal station as phase synchronization control information PC-i. Each terminal station coarsely adjusts the phase of the spreading code in accordance with the phase jump signal PJ-i, and thereafter finely adjusts the phase of its transmitting signal in accordance with the phase synchronization control information PC-i. It is therefore possible to synchronize the phases of the signals transmitted from terminal stations and received at the base station. Accordingly, an orthogonal code is used for spreading on the reverse links.

By referring to the database, a base station assigns a MDC preferentially to a mobile station issuing a connection request for calling a high priority application. The base station monitors the MDCs used for ongoing communications. If a MDC assigned to a mobile station does not satisfy a predetermined radio communication quality, other MDCs for lower priority application are freed and reassigned to the mobile station. A plurality of MDCs including the reassigned MDCs into which the same contents are encapsulated are transmitted to the mobile station.
