摘要： The invention can obtain an excellent linear property in a focusing direction and a tracking direction and can obtain a stable operation, in an objective lens driving means of an optical pickup. In an optical pickup reading and writing an information with respect to an optical disc by using an objective lens, a movable portion mounting the objective lens thereon is supported by a support member constituted by a pair of flexible printed circuit boards respectively curved in opposite directions in a parallel direction to an optical axis of the objective lens so as to be movable with respect to a fixed portion, in both side surfaces of the movable portion facing with holding the objective lens therebetween.

摘要： In an optical pickup device, a side surface parallel in the optical axis direction of an optical component is respectively fixed with an adhesive at wall surfaces (internal walls) provided opposing with each other of an accommodation case. In a part of the wall surfaces of the accommodation case, a recessed channel to be filled with the adhesive is formed. The recessed channel is provided with a stepped portion along the optical axis of the optical component at the wall surfaces of the accommodation case. A gap between the relevant side surfaces and the side surface of the optical component is formed to be reduced symmetrically toward both end portions from the center in the optical axis direction of the optical component. Accordingly, bonding strength is never lowered and position of the optical pickup device is stably maintained in an optical system.

摘要： The balance of funds remaining for a stored-value card (“SVC”) may easily be determined without going through an actual purchase transaction with the SVC. The balance is obtained wirelessly from a server storing information pertaining to SVCs, and may be provided in a discreet manner. A card reader adds a card security code to a card number read from the SVC, and encrypts the card number and the CSC. The encrypted information is wirelessly sent to a cellular telephone. The cellular telephone decrypts the encrypted information and wirelessly transmits a balance-information request, which includes the card number and the CSC, to the server. The server receives the request and wirelessly sends the requested balance information to the cellular telephone and, in turn, the cellular telephone wirelessly sends the requested balance information to the card reader, which provides the information to the requester.

摘要： An optical module for an optical device and an optical fiber is constituted by a pre-molded plastic package. In forming the plastic package, the main flowing direction of the molding resin is substantially parallel with the optical axis of the optical fiber. The optical module is formed by molding the resin by injection using pressure and then solidifying the resin. When the plastic package is formed by comprehensive molding, the flowing direction of the resin is parallel with the optical axis direction of the optical fiber to be installed in the optical module. As a result, for comprehensive molding, the molding pressure applied to the optical fiber is reduced. By using the resin case that is formed, the resulting package exhibits high rigidity and low thermal expansion properties in connection with the flowing direction of the resin, thus reducing the external stress and thermal stress applied to the optical fiber.
