摘要: A traveling service unit for groupwise exchange of bobbins supported on a creel above the service unit for bobbins supported on the bank of a textile fly frame. The traveling service unit includes a gripper assembly having gripper components for releasably individually gripping bobbins and supported relative to one another in two parallel gripper rows and a peg support assembly having a pair of movable portions, each portion having two parallel rows of pegs for supporting bobbins thereon. The traveling service unit further includes a device for selectively adjusting the spacing of the gripper components within each gripper row relative to one another and a device for selectively adjusting the spacing between the parallel rows of each portion of the peg support device. Accordingly, the traveling service unit is operable to exchange bobbins between a creel and a bobbin bank in which the two rows of creel pegs have a different spacing within each row and a different spacing between the rows than the pegs of the bobbin bank.

摘要: The invention relates to an apparatus for calendering a plastic web extruded from a slot die, and a method of operating this apparatus, the apparatus having at least two cooled rolls, which work in conjunction, the plastic web passing through the calendering nip between them. The plastic is particularly a partly crystalline type, notably polypropylene. The slot die is arranged above the first nip, and the plastic web passing through the nip continuously comes off the first roll and passes around the second roll at about 180.degree. or more. Below the nip there is a blowing device for causing cooling gas to impinges along the entire width of the plastic web in the channel between the first roll and the plastic web coming off it.

摘要: An apparatus is provided for discontinuous withdrawing of a cast strand from a continuous casting mold. A drive roller frame is rotatably supported by a pedestal fixed as to spacial position. At least two drive rollers are rotatably supported by the drive roller frame and are disposed to press against the strand from opposite sides. A drive is connected to the drive rollers for driving the drive rollers. A reciprocating drive is connected to the drive roller frame for providing an oscillating pendulum motion to the drive roller frame around an axis supported by the pedestal.

摘要: A method and apparatus for piecing a yarn in a spinning rotor of an open end spinning device is disclosed wherein an increased quantity of fibers is momentarily fed into the spinning rotor after the yarn is returned to the spinning rotor, whereupon the fiber supply is reduced to the normal supply quantity. Preferably, during termination of the spinning process, fibers are stored between a supply device and a fiber opening device which on commencing the piecing process are suddenly released, while at the same time the fiber supply resumes at the normal rate. For effecting the method an abutment surface (110) is preferably provided in a feed channel (11) on the side of a clamping point (15) of a clamping lever (5) for acting on the feed channel (11) facing away from the opening roller (2). The abutment surface (110) is abutted by a tow guide funnel (51) of the clamping lever (5) during a first part of the pivotal movement of the clamping lever, while during a second part of the pivotal movement of the lever, a clamping end (51) of the clamping lever (5) engages the fiber tow 4 at the clamping point (15) of the feed channel (11) and the guide funnel lifts from the abutment surface (110) while the feed channel is displaced away from the effective area of a fiber opening roller 2. A fiber store 6 is built up between a feed roller 10 and the fiber opening roller 2 during pivotal movement of clamping lever which is actuated by electromagnet 55 in response to a yarn break sensed by monitor 31. Upon release of the clamping lever 5 after stopping and restart of the spinning process, the feed channel is released bringing the fiber store suddenly into the operating area of opening roller 2 for release of the stored fibers in the spinning rotor 3 while at the same time normal fiber supply resumes.

摘要: The present invention is concerned with a process for dry printing or dyeing of sheets. A foam structure is printed or dyed and placed in contact with the sheet to be treated. The composite is subjected to sufficient heat and pressure to destroy the foam structure without significantly damaging the sheet. The result is the sheet surface now appears to carry the printing or dyeing. Among the suitable carrier foams are polyurethane foams. The process finds particular utility in coloring difficult to dye substrates such as cotton, fiber glass or asbestos fabrics with water insoluble dyes.
