    摘要: A cathode ray tube has a metal film formed to cover phosphor areas of a phosphor layer on an inner wall of a panel portion of an envelope. The metal film is formed over an organic film resin applied to the phosphor layer, the organic film resin is baked and removed so that the metal film covers the phosphor layer, and cracks are formed in the metal film in a greater number on side portions of the phosphor areas than on an upper portion of the phosphor areas. This construction results in a cathode ray tube with a metal film that can prevent a blister phenomenon and a reduction in brightness.

    摘要: There is provided a field leakage preventing coating for a cathode ray tube, including a vacuum envelope having a panel section, a neck section and a funnel section connecting the panel section and the neck section; a fluorescent film applied on an inner face of the panel section; and an electron gun, mounted in the neck section, for emitting three electron beams toward the fluorescent film. The field leakage preventing coating is formed by adhering a double coating film composed of a conductive first layer mainly composed of particles of one or more kinds of metal among noble metal elements of gold (Au), silver (Ag) and platinum (Pt) and a second layer mainly composed of silicon dioxide (SiO2) or magnesium fluoride (MgF2) on an outer face of a faceplate of a panel section of the color cathode ray tube.

The color selective electrode assembly is installed within the panel portion 1. An electron beam reflection film of a bismuth oxide thin film 6R having a bulk density of from 4 to 9.3 g/cm.sup.3 is formed on the face of the color selective electrode assembly 6 against which the electron beams 14 emitted from the electron gun 9 collide. The cathode ray tube is capable of displaying high density and high resolution image.

    摘要: An exposure method and apparatus for forming phosphor stripes or black matrix stripes on the inner surface of a face plate of a stripe phosphor screen type color picture tube or CRT (cathode-ray tube), in which a single linear light source is used as the exposure light source, and a prism device including many juxtaposed prisms is disposed between the linear light source and the face plate. The taper angle of the prisms is continuously changed so that the single linear light source can be observed as a plurality of discontinuous virtual linear light sources at whatever point on the inner surface of the face plate, and the virtual linear light sources have a most suitable center-to-center distance at individual positions on the face plate. The above arrangement eliminates the necessity for drive means for moving the linear light source, and a phosphor screen having three color phosphor stripes of satisfactorily uniform width can be formed on the entire inner surface of the face plate with use of the single linear light source.
