Abstract: A method, performed by a user equipment (UE) camping on a serving cell in a non-terrestrial network (NTN), for provisioning cell selection or reselection in the NTN, includes: receiving, by the UE from the serving cell, a first message comprising a first set of information; receiving, by the UE, a second message comprising a second set of information broadcasted by the serving cell, wherein the second set of information comprises information that is at least partially different from the first set of information; generating, by the UE, a cell selection or reselection list based on the first set of information and the second set of information, wherein the cell selection or reselection list comprises a plurality of candidate cells; and performing, by the UE, at least one network cell selection or reselection operation based on the cell selection or reselection list.

Embodiments herein provide higher priority PLMN selection method during disaster situation in a wireless network (1000) by MS (100). In an embodiment, when MS (100) is registered for the disaster roaming service, the method includes selecting a higher priority PLMN in a priority order when the higher priority PLMN is available in the network and other non-forbidden PLMN when the higher priority PLMN is unavailable in the network, and registering the MS to receive the service in the network on one of the selected higher priority PLMN, and the selected other non-forbidden PLMN. In another embodiment, when the MS is not registered for the disaster roaming service, the method includes selecting a higher priority PLMN in a priority order when the higher priority PLMN is available in network, and registering the MS on the selected higher priority PLMN to receive the service in network.

Abstract: An example provides a method for selecting a cell by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, and the method may include receiving first configuration information for early measurement to be performed while the UE is in an idle state or an inactive state. The method may include identifying, based on the first configuration information, a plurality of candidate cells for the early measurement among neighboring cells of the UE. The method may include receiving, from each candidate cell of the plurality of candidate cells, second configuration information including at least one of bandwidth support information, high power user equipment (HPUE) support information or relaxed measurement support information. And the method may include selecting a cell by prioritizing the plurality of candidate cells, based on a signal strength of said each candidate cell and the second configuration information.

Further, the method includes determining a geographical area based on the received geographical indication or a timer value based on the timer indication. Further, the method includes starting a timer with the timer value. Further, the method includes determining that the UE is not allowed to access the first PLMN in the determined geographical area or the expiry of the timer. Further, the method includes performing a PLMN selection and registration procedure on a second PLMN based on the determination.

Abstract: A method, and a user equipment (UE) for power saving through optimized early measurement of frequencies for secondary cell setup in cellular network are provided. The UE initiates a service with a base station associated with a primary cell supporting the early measurement of the frequencies for the secondary cell (SCell) setup. The UE determines whether the service belongs to one of a first service set, and a second service set. The early measurement of the frequencies for the S Cell setup is temporarily terminated, and/or the transmission of an early measurement report comprising the one or more frequencies for the SCell setup to the base station is temporarily terminated. Alternatively, the UE performs the early measurement of the frequencies for the SCell setup and transmits the early measurement report to the base station when the service belongs to the second service set.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method for coordinating an unavailability period parameter of User Equipment (UE) in wireless network is provided. The method includes determining, by an Application Function (AF) of a network apparatus in the wireless network, the unavailability period parameter for the UE based on at least one event to be performed at the UE. Further, the method includes sending, by the AF of the network apparatus, the unavailability period parameter for the UE to an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) of the network apparatus. Further, the method includes configuring the unavailability period parameter at the UE. In an embodiment, UE detects it has to execute the event, UE initiates a non-access stratum (NAS) procedure to indicate it will become unavailable by indicating the unavailability period parameter to the 5th generation core (5GC), 5GC forwards the unavailability period parameter to the AF, with this the co-ordination between UE, 5GC and AF is achieved.

Embodiments herein provide a method for switching between a plurality of SIM networks by a multi SIM UE in a wireless communication network. The method includes determining, by the multi SIM that the multi SIM UE needs to initiate an active data session on a second SIM network based on one of a paging message received by the multi SIM UE from the second SIM network and at least one MO activity which needs to be delivered using the second SIM network. Further, the method includes sending, by the multi SIM UE, a leaving operator message to the first SIM network indicating that the multi SIM UE is leaving the first SIM network; and switching, by the multi SIM UE, from the first SIM network to the second SIM network by triggering procedures to initiate the active data session on the second SIM network.
