摘要: The invention relates to a process for producing a desired substance by culturing a transformant in a medium until the desired substance is accumulated in the culture and then recovering the desired substance, the transformant being obtained by transforming an acetic acid-resistant microorganism of the genus Escherichia with a recombinant plasmid carrying a gene involved in production of the desired substance. The present process enables cells to be cultured easily at high density while the desired substance can be efficiently produced.

摘要: One ultrasonic endoprobe of this invention has a tubular member formed of a superelastic metal tube and a resin cover covering the outside surface of the superelastic metal tube. An inner assembly comprising an ultrasonic transducer is housed in the tubular member. Another ultrasonic endoprobe of this invention has a composite tubular member formed of a coil, a braid covering the outside surface of the coil, and an outer cover covering the outside surface of the braid. An inner assembly comprising an ultrasonic transducer is housed in the composite tubular member. The ultrasonic endoprobe of this invention has a very small diameter, a high flexibility, a high durability, and a higt torque-transmissibility.

摘要: A structural column (10) for use in the assembly of a framework (12) for a building (14) includes an outer member (16) constructed from a plurality of very thin sheets of wood material laminated together, and an inner member (18) also constructed from a plurality of very thin sheets of wooden material laminated together. Outer member (16) is composed of two substantially identical, preformed halves (20) bonded together along their longitudinal marginal shoulder portions (22) to form a closed cross-sectional shape. Correspondingly inner member 18 is constructed from two substantially identical, preformed halves 30 bonded together along their longitudinal marginal shoulder portions (31) to form a closed cross-sectional shape snugly fitting within the hollow interior of outer member (16). The marginal shoulder portions (22) and (31) may be arcuate to form rounded corners with the marginal shoulder portion of the other half of the corresponding outer and inner members, or the shoulder portions may be planar and disposed diagonally to the adjacent sections of the outer and inner members to cooperatively form a continuous, planar, diagonal corner with the shoulder portion of the corresponding opposite outer or inner member.

The inner space of the rotor is communicated with outside to be at a low pressure, and the outer space is at a high pressure due to gas compression, and an upper surface of the rotor slides on an inner wall surface of a rotor housing part with pressed against this inner wall surface by a pressure difference.

摘要: In a case where air pump system evaluation is performed, an ECU 15 blocks a pipe 5 from atmosphere by closing a canister vent solenoid valve 11, and drives an air pump 12 to pressurizes the pipe 5 up to a target pressure, and then provides a state sealing the pipe 5 by stopping the air pump 12 and closing a check valve 13, and airtightness thereof is evaluated on the basis of a pressure variation measured by a pressure gauge 6. In a condition under which the driving of the air pump 12 is desired to be avoided, EONV system evaluation is performed, and the airtightness is evaluated on the basis of a natural pressure variation resulting from a temperature change in the pipe 5 at the time when the canister vent solenoid valve 11 and the check valve 13 are closed.
