Abstract: A fluid working system such as a pump for displacing a working fluid such as hydraulic fluid or a motor using a working fluid is provided. The system may have a positive displacement machine which includes one or more working chamber with displacement means such as a cylinder with a reciprocating piston. There are also two or more fluid ports to allow the working fluid to flow into and out of the working chamber. The working fluid flows from one fluid port means to another either being forced to do so when pumped or moving the piston when functioning as an engine. The fluid working system has associated therewith a non-dead compliance volume of a material such as syntactic foam. This compliance volume acts to smooth any pressure fluctuations within the working fluid system.

Abstract: A variable displacement vane pump with electronic oil pressure control provides efficient pumping of engine oil precise regulation of engine oil pressure. The variable displacement oil pump includes a rotor supported in a housing for rotation about an axis of rotation and a slide ring movably supported in the housing. A plurality of vanes extends between the rotor and the slide ring to define a plurality of variable displacement pumping chambers. An electronic drive mechanism is configured to position the slide ring with respect to the axis of rotation, and a controller is configured to drive the electronic drive mechanism for selectively positioning the slide ring to adjust an eccentricity of the slide ring relative to the axis of rotation such that the displacement of the pumping chambers is varied.

Abstract: A pump device includes: a main pump and a sub pump; and a switching valve that switches so as to supply the hydraulic oil discharged from the sub pump to the hydraulic device, or to return the hydraulic oil discharged from the sub pump to the suction side. The main pump and the sub pump each include: a rotor, a discharge port into which the hydraulic oil discharged from a pump chamber is led, and a groove-shaped discharge-side notch formed from an opening edge of the discharge port toward a direction opposite to a rotation direction of the rotor. The switching valve switches according to a rotation speed of the drive shaft. At least one discharge-side notch of the sub pump is formed so that a resistance applied to the flow of the hydraulic oil passing therethrough is greater than that of the discharge-side notch of the main pump.

The adjustment means has first thrusting means configured to exert a first thrusting action on a first outer surface portion of the oscillating stator arranged on a substantially opposite side with respect to the rotation pin taking as a reference the rotor.

This pump includes a pump housing including, a driving shaft, a rotor, a plurality of vanes, a cam support surface, a cam ring, an intake port formed at the pump housing, a discharge port formed at the pump housing, and a cam ring control mechanism disposed at the pump housing and configured to control an eccentric amount of the cam ring with respect to the rotor. The cam support surface is formed in such a manner that a shortest distance between the cam support surface and a reference line decreases from a second confining region side toward a first confining region side, and the cam ring is formed in such a manner that a cam profile radius change rate decreases first and then increases again on the second confining region side when eccentric amount of the cam ring is maximized.
