摘要: A method of estimating an air-intake amount of an internal combustion engine is provided. The method may comprise detecting a fluid energy amount in an interior of an air-intake passage at first and second points in time while an intake valve is closed from a compression stroke to an exhaust stroke, and calculating a predicted air-intake amount using the values of the fluid energy amounts at the first and second points with reference to an air-intake amount calculation map showing a correlation between the values of the fluid energy amounts at the first and second points and the predicted air-intake amount in the intake stroke, the air-intake amount calculation map being pre-created by finding the values of the fluid energy amounts in the air-intake passage at the first and second points and the air-intake amount, for plural running states of the internal combustion engine.

摘要: In a program execution method in which a program to be executed is stored in a central unit and a terminal unit acquires the program from the central unit and executes the program, when the central unit receives an acquisition request from the terminal unit, it creates a load module different from the program, which produces the same computation results and differs in the location where essential information is to be embedded, and transmits the load module to the terminal unit together with the essential information necessary for executing the program. The terminal unit receives the program, stores the program on a memory, and executes the program based on the embedded essential information. This method makes it difficult for malicious third parties to illegally execute the program by reverse analysis, and enhances the security of the load module to be executed.

摘要: A configuration is presented that enables viewing a plurality of data objects situated in a virtual space as the visual field defined in the virtual space is changed smoothly; and that at the same time enables: supplemental information in connection with displayed data objects to be displayed; information in connection with displayed data objects to be displayed in more detail; means for dialogue with a user to be provided in situations where required; and application programs linked to the display of information and associated with that information to be executed. Included are: a step of accepting virtual-viewpoint position changes; a step of continuously changing visual field based on the virtual-viewpoint position changes, and uninterruptedly changing the display of a data object positioned within the visual field; a step of determining whether a data object positioned within the visual field satisfies predetermined geometric conditions for the visual field; and in respect of a data object that satisfies the predetermined geometric conditions, a step of executing a process preset in that data object.

摘要: The ambulatory robot is provided with front legs and rear legs that are constituted so that the lengths from the origins of the front legs and the rear legs to their terminal portions can be varied. In walking, the front legs and the rear legs are rotated and the lengths of the front legs and the rear legs are changed so that the front legs are raised from the ground surface while the rear legs are maintained in contact with the ground. Then, the front legs and the rear legs are rotated and the lengths of the legs are changed so that the front legs raised from the ground surface are replaced on the ground in the direction of ambulation and the rear legs that were maintained in contact with the ground are raised from the ground surface. Then, the front legs and the rear legs rotate and the lengths of the legs change so that the rear legs so raised from the ground surface are replaced on the ground in the direction of ambulation. Control in this manner is repeated while maintaining the trunk in a substantially erect posture as the ambulatory robot walks.

摘要: A disaster relief robot can be prevented from falling over a precipice or the like while safety for the operator can be ensured during outdoor field transportation of relief supplies such as rescue apparatus and materials, medicines or food stuffs in the case of a wide-area disaster caused by an earthquake, a heavy rainfall, a landslide or the like. Accordingly, track frames (16) for crawlers (12) are pivotably attached to a robot body (10), respectively, at its front and rear ends, the distance L between the pivot shafts of the front and rear crawlers (12F, 12R) is set so that maximum pivoting loci (CF, CR) of the crawlers do not interfere with each other, and further, the gravitational center (G) of the robot body is set at a position intermediate of the distance (L) between the pivot shafts of the front and rear crawlers. Several kinds of operation controllers are also provided.
