Abstract: A user equipment transmits user equipment information, associated with a communication of the user equipment, to permit a base station to select a first bandwidth part, a second bandwidth part, or a third bandwidth part. The user equipment is configured to communicate by the first bandwidth part, the second bandwidth part, and the third bandwidth part. The user equipment receives, from the base station, an instruction to monitor the first bandwidth part, the second bandwidth part, or the third bandwidth part. The instruction is selected based on the user equipment information. The user equipment monitors, based on the instruction, the first bandwidth part, the second bandwidth part, or the third bandwidth part.

Abstract: A method for prioritizing scanning to improve system acquisition includes scanning, by a user equipment device (UE), for base stations associated with a first radio access technology (RAT); establishing, by the UE, a first wireless channel between the UE and a first base station based on the first RAT; determining, by the UE, whether information associated with a second RAT was received via the first wireless channel; scanning, by the UE, for base stations associated with the second RAT in response to receiving the information via the first wireless channel, where the scanning is based on the received information; determining, by the UE, whether a second wireless channel based on the second RAT is established between the UE and a second base station; and camping, by the UE, on the second base station associated with the second RAT in response to determining that the second wireless channel was established.

Abstract: A base station may include a processor configured to configure a default time period for periodic service requests for discontinuous reception (DRX) for user equipment (UE) devices serviced by the base station. The core network selection service may minimize end devices transitioning between core networks of a multi-radio access technology (RAT) radio access network (RAN) based on cell selection priority configurations. The cell selection priority configurations may be provisioned on the end device via control messaging, such as system information block messages. The core network selection service may manage the end devices when in idle mode and in a connected mode.

The network device may perform a second admission control procedure to determine whether to allow the user equipment device to connect to the network. The second admission control procedure is based on the slice associated with the user equipment device. The network device may allocate network resources to the user equipment device in response to determining to allow the user equipment device to connect to the network.

Abstract: A device may receive information from a unified database, wherein the information includes a Service Profile Identifier (SPID); select a Quality-of-Service (QoS)-related identifier (ID) at least based on the SPID; and either map a radio bearer to a flow associated with a User Equipment device (UE) or configure a component to map the radio bearer to the flow. After mapping the radio bearer to the flow, the device may send data from the flow to the UE based on the QoS related ID. After configuring the component, the device may forward the SPID to a second component for sending the data from the flow to the UE based on the QoS-related ID.

Abstract: A network device determines radio frequency (RF) conditions at a first endpoint and a second endpoint of a call or session. The network device determines optimum first codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the first endpoint of the call or session, and determines optimum second codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the second endpoint of the call or session. The network device sends the first codec parameters to the first endpoint for altering operation of a first codec at a first device at the first endpoint. The network device sends the second codec parameters to the second endpoint for altering operation of a second codec at a second device at the second endpoint.

Abstract: A device may receive a thermal report from a user equipment. The thermal report may indicate a temperature of the user equipment. The device may determine, based on the thermal report, whether the temperature of the user equipment satisfies a temperature threshold. The device may select a network action to reduce the temperature of the user equipment based on the temperature of the user equipment satisfying the temperature threshold. The device may perform the network action.

Abstract: A device may receive a signal from a wireless station; and determine a network-permitted Time Division Duplex (TDD) uplink duty cycle based on the signal. If the determined network-permitted TDD uplink duty cycle is greater than a maximum allowable TDD uplink duty cycle for the device, when the device performs TDD uplink transmission after receiving a scheduling grant from the wireless station, the device may decrease the TDD uplink duty cycle of the device or may decrease a time-average transmission power of the device.
