Abstract:
Embodiments of a mobile device and method for secure on-line sign-up and provisioning of credentials for Wi-Fi hotspots are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the mobile device may be configured to establish a transport-layer security (TLS) session with a sign-up server through a Wi-Fi Hotspot to receive a certificate of the sign-up server. When the certificate is validated, the mobile device may be configured to exchange device management messages with the sign-up server to sign-up for a Wi-Fi subscription and provisioning of credentials, and retrieve a subscription management object (MO) that includes a reference to the provisioned credentials for storage in a device management tree. The credentials are transferred/provisioned securely to the mobile device. In some embodiments, an OMA-DM protocol may be used. The provisioned credentials may include certificates in the case of certificate-based credentials, machine-generated credentials such as username/password credentials, or SIM-type credentials.
Abstract:
Panels that provide structural integrity to building structures and enhance the insulation and heat dissipation capacity of a structure. The panels include an inner imperforate rigid layer of a first material, an outer rigid layer of a second material, and at least one intermediate rigid layer of a third material. The layers are positioned in a spaced relationship so that there are a first air space between the inner layer and the intermediate layer and a second air space between the intermediate layer and the outer layer. At least one pair of upper and lower openings are provided in the outer layer so that the second air space communicates with ambient air. Likewise, the intermediate layer includes at least one pair of upper and lower openings that communicate with the openings in the outer layer so that the first air space is also in fluid communication with the ambient air.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a virtual musical interface for composing, editing, and/or performing audio works. In certain embodiments, the invention relates to a virtual musical interface rendered as a virtual object in a haptic environment, where one or more parameters of the virtual object are associated with one or more audio attributes. Thus, methods and systems of the invention provide audio, visual, and/or haptic feedback in response to a user interaction.
Abstract:
A hardware and/or software facility to enable emulated storage devices to share data stored on physical storage resources of a storage system. The facility may be implemented on a virtual tape library (VTL) system configured to back up data sets that have a high level of redundancy on multiple virtual tapes. The facility organizes all or a portion of the physical storage resources according to a common store data layout. By enabling emulated storage devices to share data stored on physical storage resources, the facility enables deduplication across the emulated storage devices irrespective of the emulated storage device to which the data is or was originally written, thereby eliminating duplicate data on the physical storage resources and improving the storage consumption of the emulated storage devices on the physical storage resources.
Abstract:
Techniques for interworking between heterogeneous radios are described. An apparatus may comprise a first radio module operative to establish a first wireless link over a first wireless network with a first network device, a second radio module operative to establish a second wireless link over a second wireless network with a second network device, and a radio control module communicatively coupled to the first and second radio modules. The radio control module may be operative to send preregistration information for a mobile device to the second wireless network when connected to the first wireless network, determine whether to connect to the second wireless network, and establish the second wireless link over the second wireless network with the second network device using the preregistration information. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a framework system and methods for connecting a plurality of tools. The system comprises a plug-in mechanism configured to dynamically load the plurality of tools, a data pool having storage space configured to store data sets associated with the plurality of tools, a linking mechanism configured to establish communications links between the loaded plurality of tools to enable coordinated operation of the loaded plurality of tools, a session component configured to record the process history of the operations of the loaded plurality of tool and the system states corresponding to the process history of the operations and an annotation module configured to associate user-provided data corresponding to one or more of the stored data sets.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention relate to apparatus, system and method for use of WLAN access enabled mobile devices such as notebooks and handheld communication devices. In particular, embodiments of the invention relate to methodology whereby WiFi enabled devices can automatically select the appropriate service provider, in a power efficient manner, thereby taking advantage of different services offered by different service providers.
Abstract:
In general, in one aspect, the disclosure describes a method including initiating a network handover between a current network point of attachment (POA) and a mobile mode (MN). Pre-authentication of target network POAs is performed after the MN identifies the target network POAs. One of the target network POAs is selected based at least in part on the pre-authenticating. An IP address is pre-provisioned for MN in the selected target network POA. Communications between the MN and the selected target network POA are established.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to obtain network information for seamless vertical handovers are described. In one embodiment, a wireless device transmits an information query to an information server to cause the information server to determine one or more available access networks for the wireless device (e.g., as the wireless device moves toward one of the available access networks). Other embodiments are also described.
Abstract:
A computing system is described that includes a main system bus that remains active while said computing system operates within a non main CPU/OS based operational state. The computing system also includes a controller that operates functional tasks while the computing system is within the non main CPU/OS based operational state. The computing system also includes an I/O unit coupled to the main system bus that remains active while the computing system operates within the non main CPU/OS based operational state.
