摘要: The present invention provides an aluminum casting alloy with a composition including 4%-9% Si; 0.1%-0.7% Mg; less than or equal to 5% Zn; less than 0.15% Fe; less than 4% Cu; less than 0.3% Mn; less than 0.05% B; less than 0.15% Ti; and the remainder consisting essentially of aluminum. The inventive AlSiMg composition provides increased mechanical properties (Tensile Yield Strength and Ultimate Tensile Strength) in comparison to similiarly prepared E357 alloy at room temperature and high temperature. The present invention also includes a shaped casting formed from the inventive composition and a method of forming a shaped casting from the inventive composition.

摘要: A method and apparatus for continuous casting of metal strip, the apparatus having (i) a first endless belt supported and moved on the surfaces of a first entry pulley and a first exit pulley and (ii) a second endless belt supported and moved on the surfaces of a second entry pulley and a second exit pulley, with an entry nip defined between the first and second entry pulleys and an exit nip defined between the first and second exit pulleys. Opposing surfaces of the first and second belts progressively diverge from each other in the direction of movement thereof. The apparatus may include a cooled roll in place of the first pulley and first belt with a nip defined between the cooled roll and the second entry pulley.

摘要: A multi-layer metallurgical product comprising a core aluminum alloy, purposefully tailored through chemistry and processing route to resist recrystallization during the brazing cycle to intentionally exploit the higher strengths immediately after brazing of a deformed and recovered microstructure, the core aluminum alloy being positioned on one side to an aluminum alloy interliner designed to be resistant to localized erosion, which, in turn, is adjacent to a 4xxx cladding alloy. The multi-layer product can be fabricated at least in part via any multi-alloy ingot casting processes such as the Simultaneous Multi-Alloy Casting process or the Unidirectional Solidification of Castings process.
