摘要: System and methods to create an immersive virtual environment using a virtual reality system that receives parameters corresponding to a real-world robot. The real-world robot may be simulated to create a virtual robot based on the received parameters. The immersive virtual environment may be transmitted to a user. The user may supply input and interact with the virtual robot. Feedback such as the current state of the virtual robot or the real-world robot may be provided to the user. The user may train the virtual robot. The real-world robot may be programmed based on the virtual robot training.

摘要: A method is provided for treating a Mendelian disorder of the epigenetic machinery in a subject in need thereof. In particular, the method comprises administering a therapeutically effective amount of an agent that restores balance between open and closed chromatin states at one or more target genes, wherein the agent that restores balance between open and closed chromatin states at one or more target genes is an agent that ameliorates the effect of a defective gene encoding a component of the epigenetic machinery.

摘要: Low oxygen tension is a critical regulator of the developing or regenerating vasculature. The present invention is based on the determination that low oxygen tension during early stages of early vascular cell (EVC) derivation induces endothelial commitment and maturation of pluripotent stem cells. Inhibition of reactive oxygen species generation during the early stages of differentiation abrogates the endothelial inductive effects of the low oxygen environments. Methods of generating various types of cells from pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) are described, as well as compositions and methods of use thereof. In particular, generation of EVCs, bicellular vascular populations, early endothelial cells (ECs) and pericytes via culture in a low oxygen environment is described.

摘要: Methods of identifying subjects at increased risk of cancer, based upon detection of biofilms and/or biofilm-associated microbes within a subject, are disclosed. Therapies designed to prevent formation and/or reduce the size of biofilms in a subject identified to be at increased risk of cancer based upon detection of biofilms and/or biofilm-associated microbes are disclosed. In particular embodiments, the invention provides for identification of a subject at elevated risk of developing or having colorectal cancer and/or a colorectal adenoma, based upon detection of a biofilm and/or biofilm-associated bacteria within the gastrointestinal tract of the subject (optionally, within a biopsy specimen and/or stool sample of such subject). Therapies involving administration of an antibiotic agent and/or a probiotic agent to a subject, to prevent or reduce biofilm formation within the gastrointestinal tract of the subject, optionally provided in combination with additional cancer therapy, are also disclosed.

摘要: Microgrippers adapted to capture, manipulate, and contain single cells in both in vitro and in vivo cell applications are disclosed. The energy required to actuate these microgrippers is derived from the release of residual stress and does not require any wires, tethers, or batteries. Because the microgrippers are made from biocompatible and biosorbable materials, they do not accumulate in tissue. Accordingly, they can be used for in vivo applications, such as for gripping single cells in tissue biopsies.

摘要: A device may receive, from an imaging device, a two-dimensional image of a patient being operated on by a user, where the two-dimensional image captures a portion of the patient, and where the portion of the patient is provided between a focal point of an imaging source of the imaging device and a detector plane of the imaging device. The device may translate the two-dimensional image along a frustum of the imaging source, and may generate one or more images in a three-dimensional space based on translating the two-dimensional image along the frustum of the imaging source. The device may provide the one or more images in the three-dimensional space to an augmented reality device associated with the user.

摘要: Low-molecular weight gadolinium (Gd)-based MR contrast agents for PSMA-specific T1-weighted MR imaging are disclosed. The (Gd)-based MR contrast agents exhibit high binding affinity for PSMA and exhibit specific T1 contrast enhancement at PSMA+ cells. The PSMA-targeted Gd-based MR contrast agents can be used for PSMA-targeted imaging in vivo. 86Y-labeled PSMA-binding ureas also are provided, wherein the PSMA-binding ureas also are suitable for use with other radiotherapeutics.

摘要: An implantable ultrasonic transducer device for capturing radiographic and biometric data is provided. The implantable ultrasonic transducer device includes a transducer array configured to provide ultrasonic waves to a target area and to obtain reflected ultrasonic waves from the target area; a controller electrically coupled to the transducer array and configured to provide one or more control signals to the transducer array to control one or more modes of operation of the transducer array; and an antenna electrically coupled to the controller and configured to wireless transmit and receive data from an external device, wherein the transducer array, the controller, and the antenna are completely contained within a body cavity of a patient and an activation surface of the transducer array is positioned in physical contact with a portion of a treatment area of the patient with no air gap between the activation surface and the treatment area.
