Abstract:
In a device on a spinning room preparation machine, for example a fibre flock feeder, carding machine, cleaner or the like, for supplying and/or discharging fibre material, a tray-like guide element having a guide surface co-operates with at least one conveyor roll located opposite, the fibre material being guided towards and along the guide surface. In order to provide a simple way of supplying and/or discharging fibre material without undesirable adhesion of fibres, the guide element located opposite the at least one conveyor roll is arranged to be set in vibration by at least one actuator.
Abstract:
A method and a device for opening and dosing fiber feeds the fiber material via a feeding shaft of an opening device. The fiber material is processed in a first opening step of a dosing opener and is fed without an interconnecting pneumatic means to the feeding shaft of a second opening step. A large-volume feeding shaft has been placed before the first opening device from which the fiber material is delivered to a feeding shaft with a considerably smaller volume that delivers the fiber material to a second opening device. Both opening devices and their associated feeding shafts are placed on top of one other.
Abstract:
A device is provided on a spinning preparation machine for receiving a sliver from a discharge device of the spinning preparation machine and transporting the sliver to a downstream machine, the spinning preparation machine having a depositing region. The device has a support for receiving the sliver deposited from the discharge device in the depositing region, and a moving device for moving the deposited sliver relative to the discharge device in the depositing region for forming a free standing sliver bundle, and for moving the free standing sliver bundle out of the depositing region for transport to a downstream machine.
Abstract:
An apparatus in a spinning room for providing at least one fiber sliver package to a sliver-fed machine having at least one feed position. The apparatus comprises a transport arrangement for transporting one or more fiber sliver packages from an upstream sliver-delivering machine or a storage station to a sliver-fed machine. The transport arrangement is arranged to supply at least one fiber sliver package to a feed position and the fiber sliver package(s) can be stably positioned at the feed position.
Abstract:
A process for controlling the operation of a textile draw frame wherein a plurality of fiber slivers are fed to the draw frame at a predetermined desired delivery speed includes monitoring the presence of individual fiber slivers delivered to the draw frame and decreasing the delivery speed of the draw frame if any of the monitored fiber slivers is indicated as missing from being fed to the draw frame. The process includes subsequently increasing the delivery speed of the draw frame if the respective missing fiber slivers are again indicated as being fed to the draw frame. The invention also includes a draw frame including apparatus for carrying out the controlling process.
Abstract:
A feeding apparatus for a pneumatic conveying system comprising a guide chute and a rotary pocket feeder. The guide chute includes a plurality of parallel rod members positioned across its inlet, an upper and lower rotating tine means, and an adjustable sized outlet. The upper and lower tine means are rotated in the same direction about parallel, vertically spaced axes and have tine members that extend outwardly of their respective axis to mesh with each other. The tine members of the upper tine means also mesh with the rod members to assist in bringing material into the chute where the material is conveyed through the variable sized outlet into the pocket feeder for delivery to the conduit of a pneumatic conveying system. The empty return portion of the pocket feeder is vented into the upper portion of the chute to prevent any pressure remaining in the pocket feeder from blowing back into the chute outlet. The feeding apparatus is particularly suited to handle fibrous insulating material and other materials with a fluffy consistency.
Abstract:
Apparatus for the processing of textile fibers such as wool fibers to form a coherent and even layer of fibers at high velocity for further processing in which fibers are fed on a conveyor belt to a pinned cylinder, the pins of which have a negative inclination and which are forced by rotation of the cylinder into the layer of fibers picking it up from the conveyor and carrying it around. The fibers are then transferred to another pinned cylinder the pins of which also have a negative inclination and which rotates at a faster speed than the first pinned cylinder so that there is a drafting action between them, the fibers being completely stripped from the first pinned cylinder and transferred to the second either by means of a third pinned cylinder the pins of which pass between the pins of the other two or by means of a stripping plate partially encircling the first pinned cylinder to strip the fibers from its pins and lead then under a cover plate which partially surrounds the second pinned cylinder and which serves to hold the fibers while they are penetrated by the pins of the second cylinder. The fibers are finally stripped from the second pinned cylinder and passed to a second conveyor which conveys them for further processing. The negative inclination of the pins assists greatly in overcoming problems of stripping the fibers from the cylinders.
Abstract:
A pneumatic forwarding device suitable for automatic string-up with a running band of material, especially in processes in which the pneumatic forwarding device is reciprocatably traversed, comprises two hinged sections which normally firmly abut with each other, the plane of their abutment intersecting with the internal passageway through which a band of continuous material is forwarded, but not intersecting with a passageway through which the forwarding fluid is induced into the device. Separation and close abutment of the sections of the forwarding devices is effected automatically by means of transducers which sense the position of the forwarding device relative to the running band of material.
