摘要: A fuel supply system is provided for an internal combustion engine. The system comprises a fuel control valve metering fuel to the inlet of the engine and a governor for monitoring the output of the engine and adjusting the fuel control valve. A first fuel of low quality is fed to the inlet of the engine through a first valve regulating the supply of the first fuel. A fuel mixture controller responds to output signals from the governor and adjusts the position of a second valve for regulating the supply of a second fuel of high quality. The first and second fuels are combined in a mixture before being fed to the fuel control valve and the inlet of the engine.

摘要: The circulatory fuel oil injection supply system of a diesel engine is adapted so that the engine may be run selectively either in a single fuel mode on diesel oil alone or in a dual-fuel mode on both diesel oil and gas. The control system and fuel system of the engine are modified so that pressure conditions at a diesel oil injection metering device during the single-fuel mode are mimicked by a first flow restrictor during the dual-fuel mode. A pressure sensor measures the mimicked pressure and controls the amount of gas flow to the engine via an electronic programmable control. A shut-off first solenoid valve operative in the single-fuel mode circuit is by-passed in the dual-fuel mode while second and third solenoid valves are operative to open a by-pass line including a second flow-restrictor and to open a reference pressure supply line respectively. A governor control and a throttle control having a by-pass weep line remain operative in both the single-fuel mode and in the dual-fuel mode. In a further modification the first flow-restrictor and third solenoid valve and the second flow-restrictor and the second solenoid valve are replaced by respective pulsed solenoid valves providing variable flow-restrictors so as to allow a variable amount of pilot diesel fuel oil to be supplied in the dual-fuel mode via the electronic control.

摘要: A control system is provided for regulating the fuel feed to a dual fuel internal combustion engine. The engine includes a source of first fuel, a pump therefor, and a source of second fuel under a predetermined pressure. A first valve is mounted within a first feed line connecting the engine to the pump outlet. A second valve is mounted within a second feed line connecting the engine to the pump outlet. A third valve is mounted within a third feed line connecting the engine to the second fuel source. A pressure-sensitive metering valve is disposed within the third feed line downstream of the third valve. A means is provided which transmits the flow pressure from the second valve to the metering valve and thus, determines the setting of the latter. A control means, adjustable between two modes, is operatively connected to the first, second, and third valves. When the control means is in a first mode, the first valve is open and both the second and third valves are closed whereby only the first fuel is fed to the engine. When the control means is in a second mode, the first valve is closed and both the second and third valves are open whereby both the first and second fuels are simultaneously fed to the engine. The ratio of the second fuel to the first fuel being fed to the engine, when the control means is in the second mode, is determined by the setting of the metering valve when said control means is in said second mode.

摘要: A gaseous fuel engine system includes a quick start fuel system having a pressurized gaseous fuel supply, a fuel feed conduit and a quick start fuel admission valve. The fuel feed conduit is coupled to an intake conduit for the engine at a downstream fuel admission location. A main fuel system is coupled to the intake conduit at an upstream fuel admission location. The quick start fuel admission valve is electrically actuated to admit a pressured gaseous fuel from the pressurized gaseous fuel supply for quick starting the gaseous fuel internal combustion engine. The quick start fuel may have a fuel composition different than a fuel composition of the main fuel.
