    摘要: A system for mixing a first gas flow and a second gas flow includes a conduit defined by a wall for communicating the first gas flow therethrough, an inlet passing through the wall of the conduit for introducing the second gas flow into the conduit, and a valve body disposed within the conduit, the valve body being displaceable in a longitudinal direction with respect to the conduit at the inlet. The conduit includes a bend downstream of the body with respect to a direction of the mixed gas flow. A holder is operably connected at a first end thereof to a downstream end of the valve body, the holder passing through a bore in the wall of the conduit at the bend. An actuator is operably connected to a second end of the holder, the actuator causing, via the holder, the valve body to be displaced in the longitudinal direction.

    摘要: A gasoline engine system includes a gasoline engine, a throttle valve for metering a supply of combustion gas fed to the engine, and a source of metered fuel injected into the combustion gas mixture. The throttle valve includes an inlet air supply line, a recirculating exhaust gas supply line, and an output line. Air entering through the inlet air supply line and exhaust gas entering though the recirculating exhaust gas supply line mix to create a combustion gas mixture of air, fuel and exhaust gas before exiting the output line. A body is actuatable to control a proportion of air versus recirculating exhaust gas in the combustion gas mixture.

    摘要: A speed control apparatus for an internal combustion engine including a poppet valve seat and a poppet valve pintle assembly disposed coaxially for variably regulating the flow of air into the engine across the valve seat. The pintle is axially positioned by a stepper motor actuator responsive to an engine speed sensor and electronic controller. The controller varies the axial position of the pintle in accordance with a programmed algorithm to provide any desired engine speed, and especially a fixed engine speed, under a range of engine loads. The invention eliminates the need for a governor, rotary mechanical throttle, and cable or mechanical linkages, and is especially useful for small engine applications such as in powering a portable electric generator, yard equipment, or outboard motor.

    摘要: An 8 stroke and 4 stroke piston engine with at least one inlet valve where there is a small volume, namely less than 10% of the swept cylinder volume, of inlet air between the seat of the throttle and the seat of the inlet valve at idling speed. The throttle can be disc or cone shaped or shaped to generally fill the volume between the closed throttle and the inlet valve seat. For higher power the throttle moves away from the inlet valve to open the inlet port. Fuel is injected into the small volume between the throttle and the inlet valve where engine heat helps vaporise the fuel without heating a large mass of the inlet air.
