A device is provided for accelerating and propelling whole tires into the combustion zone of a kiln. More specifically, the device comprises an upper accelerating assembly and a lower accelerating assembly for providing approximately constant exit velocity to a whole tire regardless of is size or weight.

A feed chute apparatus for injecting fuel into a rotating cement kiln by gravity. The apparatus, which is positioned adjacent to a cement kiln and supported at an angle of inclination sufficient to allow tires or other combustible materials to be gravity fed into the cement kiln, has a feed ramp for guiding the combustible material into the kiln. A gate having a pair of opposing posts is positioned at the end of the feed ramp to control the rate of feed of the combustible material. In the rest position, the posts are extended in relation to the feed ramp to prevent the flow of combustible material. When the kiln rotates to a position where the feed opening in the wall of the kiln is aligned with the feed ramp, the gate retracts to allow the combustible material to be gravity fed into the kiln. The angle of inclination is selected so that there is sufficient gravitational force on the combustible material to slide down the feed ramp and into the kiln, but not so steep that the combustible material binds up in the feed chute.

An apparatus 1 for disposal of wastes comprises a measuring hopper 2 for measuring a charging amount of a waste to be disposed such as domestic wastes, industrial wastes or the like or a charging amount of a solid fuel such as coke, coal or the like, a charging hopper 3 for charging the waste and the solid fuel respectively measured with the measuring hopper 2, a melting furnace 4 for melting the waste charged from the charging hopper 3 at a high temperature to conduct detoxification thereof, and a charging damper 5 arranged between the charging hopper 3 and the melting furnace 4 and having a multistage sluice valve system 9 capable of charging the waste and the solid fuel charged in the charging hopper 3 into the melting furnace 4 without outflowing of a furnace gas to exterior.

Systems and methods for pyrolyzing waste materials are described. The method utilizes waste heat from a cement kiln and the pyrolysis system includes at least a feed inerting section and a pyrolysis chamber. The method includes feeding drums of waste into the feed inerting section, replacing oxygen in the feed inerting section with carbon dioxide recovered from the cement kiln, and transporting the drums of waste through the pyrolysis chamber. The waste is pyrolyzed in the pyrolysis chamber with exhaust gasses from the cement kiln and a fuel gas created by the pyrolysis is routed to provide heat to the cement kiln.

A drum transport device is disclosed which includes a plate, a first and a second pair of connected and vertically spaced horizontal bars a pair on opposite sides of the row of drums. Each bar has an end which is connected to the plate. The device includes middle horizontal bars, a first between the first pair of horizontal bars and a second between the second pair. The middle horizontal bars move in unison with one another and to move relative to the first and second pair bars. The device also includes a plurality of vertically oriented hinge doors, pivotably connected to the horizontal bars. Tie rods are pivotably connected to both the hinge doors and a corresponding middle horizontal bar, such that when a middle bar is moved relative the pairs of horizontal bars, the hinge doors swing to a position substantially parallel to or substantially parallel to the bars.

The invention provide a process for energy recovering through waste classification and calcination and an apparatus therefor, comprises crushing and sorting various types of wastes and by means of a series of classification, calcination and recovering treatments, recovering and reusing efficiently fuel oil, fuel gas and residues as well as electric power and heat required for the apparatus in the self-supplying feedback system of the invention, and additionally, lowering successfully the possibility of secondary pollution from wastes disposal.

A method for recovering energy from waste, which includes: a first waste trituration step; fermentation of the waste in the presence of air. The method allows to recover the energy produced by waste combustion with an efficiency that is at least 50% higher than methods used so far.

A method and apparatus for continuously feeding hazardous waste fuels having a relatively high solids content to a rotary cement kiln by delivering the fuel to a feed hopper with screw-conveyor which transfers the fuel to a filling zone where a piston pump capable of pumping a composition having a solids content of at least 40% with particle sizes up to a maidmum of 2 inches continuously charges the fuel through a conveyance tube into a feed tube which introduces the fuel into the kiln through the feed end housing.
