摘要： An ice machine has an ice-making assembly that includes a water distributor in which one or more structural elements form a first chamber. The first chamber is configured to receive an inflow of water, distribute the water laterally, and to controllably release the water. A mating member cooperates with the one or more structural elements to form a second chamber. The second chamber is configured to receive water from the first chamber and to controllably release the water onto a receiving surface. The mating member is configured to be detached from the one or more structural elements in a direction perpendicular to the direction of lateral water distribution.

摘要： Disclosed is an ice making apparatus and method whereby the cleanliness of ice is improved through the use of ozone (O3). The invention utilizes a aspirating injector that is positioned within the water chamber of an ice maker The presence of the ozone within the water inhibits the growth of bacteria and other contaminates. The ozonated water is then used in the production of ice. The invention further discloses a method for retrofitting existing ice makers to benefit from the anti-bacterial uses of ozone.

摘要： An ice making machine composed of a water tank for storing an amount of ice making water, an upright ice making plate arranged above the water tank, and a water sprinkler located immediately above the ice making plate to spray ice making water supplied from the water tank to the ice making plate so that the ice making water falls along the ice making plate, in which the ice making water sprayed to the ice making plate during operation at an ice making mode is frozen and formed into ice cubes in the course of falling along the ice making plate. The ice making machine includes a drainage mechanism for draining the ice making water from the water tank, a water supply mechanism for supplying washing water into the water tank, and an electric controller for activating the drainage mechanism after finish of operation at a defrost mode and for activating the water supply mechanism after the ice making water has been drained from the water tank, wherein the washing water supplied into the water tank under control of the controller is sprayed by the water sprinkler for washing the ice making plate.

摘要： An apparatus for decontaminating water in an ice machine or a beverage-dispensing machine comprising an ultraviolet radiation source, an ozone source and a controller. As potable water enters the apparatus via a conduit, the potable water is decontaminated by an ultraviolet (UV) light source, which irradiates the potable water, and by an ozone generation system that provides ozone to be injected into the potable water to oxidize contaminants. Because water is often circulated within ice machines, the circulating water conduits and reservoir are also treated with ozone and UV radiation. The present invention also provides a controller for optimizing the decontamination process by providing UV light and ozone production only when required for decontamination. Typically, ozone generation and UV radiation are required whenever makeup potable water is brought into the apparatus or when the refrigeration compressor is running.
