摘要： In one embodiment of the present invention, on each source bus line, an electric charge escaping transistor is provided having the same polarity as a pixel transistor and having a gate to which a turn-off voltage signal of the pixel transistor is supplied. When an active matrix liquid crystal display device is powered off, the turn-off voltage signal is made to reach the GND level before a turn-on voltage signal of the pixel transistor reaches the GND level, so that the pixel transistor and the electric charge escaping transistor are made half-open. This lets electric charges accumulated in the pixel escape to a common electrode TCOM.

The enable signal output section keeps the voltage of the enable signal constant at the active voltage level throughout the off sequence period.

摘要： A handheld dedicated electronic book (“eBook”) reader device and last screen rendering techniques for enhancing user experience are described. The eBook reader device detects certain screen conversion events, such as a timeout period, a scheduled event, or an event derived from user behavior. Upon detection of such events, the eBook reader device renders, as the last screen image to remain visible after the user ceases using the device, an image that conveys to the user some meaningful association with a content item. In the context of eBooks, the eBook reader device renders a representation of the book cover as the last screen image. A progress indicator may further be included to represent user progress through the content item.

Before or after supply of a power voltage applied to a light-emitting element is cut, a potential of a gate electrode of a transistor controlling the supply of the power voltage to the light-emitting element is initialized. Specifically, in the case where the transistor is n-channel type, the potential of the gate electrode is initialized so that a gate voltage is equal to or lower than a threshold voltage. In the case where the transistor is p-channel type, the potential of the gate electrode is initialized so that the gate voltage is equal to or higher than the threshold voltage.

摘要： There is offered a driving circuit for an electrophoretic display device directed to avoiding a problem that clearing display on a display unit is not performed when the power supply is lost and a wrong display such as wrong time display is left unchanged. In the driving circuit for the electrophoretic display device, either a display clearing signal or a display retaining signal is set in a display setting register in advance. When the loss of the power supply is detected by a low voltage detection circuit while the display clearing signal is retained in the display setting register, the display on the display unit is cleared or retained in accordance with the setting in the display setting register.
