    摘要: A hybrid cable for telecommunications systems is disclosed. The hybrid cable may include a plurality of fiber-optic cables and power cables extending within an armor member and an outer jacket in a main body portion of the hybrid cable, and extending outside of the armor member and the outer jacket in a termination portion of the hybrid cable. Shielded tube assemblies may be attached to the power cables in the termination portion to provide electrical shielding to the power cables in the termination portion of the hybrid cable. The shielded tube assemblies may be attached to the armor member to electrically ground the shielded tube assemblies. A method of constructing a hybrid cable is also disclosed.

    摘要: A method for manufacturing a cable having a wire, a shield, a jacket, and a sleeve electrically contacted to the shield, includes removing the jacket at an end of the cable so that the shield is exposed. A support clamp is attached in such a way that the support clamp is electrically contacted to the shield and that, at an end of the shield, a projecting portion protrudes axially from the support clamp, the shield surrounded by the support clamp having a radial distance from an outer contour of the support clamp. The end of the shield is severed in such a way that, after the severing operation, a length of the projecting portion is shorter than the radial distance in a state in which the shield is folded radially outwardly. The sleeve is mounted so that it is disposed radially outwardly of the support clamp and electrically contacted thereto.

    摘要: A foam coaxial cable includes a central conductor; an inner skin layer surrounding the central conductor coaxially; an insulation layer surrounding the inner skin layer coaxially and made of polyethylene resin containing a plurality of foam cells uniformly formed therein; wherein the inner skin layer is made of polyolefin resin having excellent compatibility with the polyethylene resin to increase an interfacial adhesive force with the insulation layer, an outer skin layer surrounding the insulation layer coaxially to prevent overfoaming of the insulation layer and allow uniform creation of foam cells; a shield surrounding the outer skin layer coaxially; and a jacket surrounding the shield. This cable improves an interfacial adhesive force between the central conductor and the insulation layer and also improves the degree of foam of the foam cells, thereby capable of propagating ultra high frequency of GHz level without signal interference.

    摘要: The invention provides an insulated wire having a conductor and an insulator of paste extruded PTFE fine powder around the conductor. The paste extruded insulator has at least one closed continuous longitudinal air channel spaced apart from the conductor. The invention further provides a process for forming an insulator around a conductor by paste extruding lubricated PTFE fine powder in an extrusion device comprising a die, mandrel, and at least one channel-forming member. The die and mandrel form a converging chamber leading to an extrusion orifice and the channel-forming member is positioned in the orifice. The mandrel has a central bore for supplying the conductor. Lubricated PTFE fine powder is forced through the chamber and out of the exit of the orifice as a lubricated green extrudate around the conductor forming an insulator with at least one closed longitudinal air channel spaced apart from the conductor.

    摘要: A coaxial cable is provided with a specially prepared precoat layer that facilitates removal of the precoat layer when the end of the cable is cored in preparation for receiving a connector. The cable includes an inner conductor; a foam polyolefin dielectric layer surrounding the inner conductor; an outer conductor surrounding said dielectric layer; and a precoat layer disposed between the inner conductor and the dielectric layer. The precoat layer forms a first bond interface with the inner conductor and a second bond interface with the dielectric layer, wherein the ratio of the axial shear adhesion force of the first (“A”) bond to the axial shear adhesive force of the second (“B”) bond is less than 1, and wherein the ratio of the axial shear adhesion force of the “A” bond formed by the precoat layer between the inner conductor to the dielectric layer to the rotational shear adhesion force of the bond is 5 or greater.
