    摘要: An RF plenum cable has an annular outer conductor and a coaxial inner conductor. Disposed between the inner and outer conductors is a dielectric spine which includes a sleeve that wraps around the inner conductor, and a plurality of circumferentially spaced ribs that project outwardly from an outer surface of the sleeve. Each of the ribs is defined by a tapered configuration having a first thickness at a first end portion coupled to the sleeve, and a second thickness at a second end portion coupled to an inner surface of the outer conductor, in which the first thickness is less than the second thickness. The dielectric spine may be formed of a plastic having a dielectric constant and loss tangent that, combined with the design of the dielectric spine and the dimensions of the inner and outer conductor, allows for a reduced insertion loss at high frequencies (e.g., 6 GHz).

    摘要: Cost reduction in a multicore cable is realized by reduction in the frequency of damaging a coaxial cable upon removal of a covering layer. A multicore cable 10 includes multiple coaxial cables 11 arranged in parallel, and ground members 15, 16 conductively connected with the coaxial cables 11. Each coaxial cable includes an internal conductor 11a, an internal insulating layer 11b covering an outer peripheral surface of the internal conductor 11a, an external conductor 11c covering an outer peripheral surface of the internal insulating layer 11b, a covering layer 11d covering an outer peripheral surface of the external conductor 11c, a removed portion 11e formed in such a manner that part of the covering layer 11d in a circumferential direction is removed such that the external conductor 11c is exposed, and a conductive member 21 filling the removed portion 11e. The ground member 15 is conductively connected with the conductive member 21 filling the removed portion 11e.

    摘要: In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a dual axial cable may include two substantially parallel and substantially adjacent wires, each wire formed from an electrical conductor surrounded throughout its length by a bifurcated electrical insulator. Each bifurcated electrical insulator may include a first portion of electrically insulative material and a second portion of electrically insulative material having a dielectric constant substantially higher than a dielectric constant of the first portion, such that a cross-section of each wire includes its respective first portion and respective second portion. The cable may be configured such that throughout the length of the cable, the second portions of each of the two wires are substantially adjacent to each other.

    摘要: A hybrid cable for telecommunications systems is disclosed. The hybrid cable may include a plurality of fiber-optic cables and power cables extending within an armor member and an outer jacket in a main body portion of the hybrid cable, and extending outside of the armor member and the outer jacket in a termination portion of the hybrid cable. Shielded tube assemblies may be attached to the power cables in the termination portion to provide electrical shielding to the power cables in the termination portion of the hybrid cable. The shielded tube assemblies may be attached to the armor member to electrically ground the shielded tube assemblies. A method of constructing a hybrid cable is also disclosed.
