摘要: Method for predicting properties of a product of cellulose-fibre-based pulp, paper or paperboard, wherein a suspension of cellulose fibre is subjected to analysis, during manufacture of the product, by spectroscopic measurements of a sample quantity of the suspension, in a spectrum in the wavelength range 200–2500 nm. The method comprises diluting each sample quantity prior to analysis, dewatering and drying one partial flow and subjecting that partial flow to spectroscopic measurements, and analyzing a second partial flow of the diluted sample quantity for physical fiber data, by means of image analysis. Each sample quantity analyzed generates at least 100 data points from the spectroscopic measurement distributed in the selected spectrum, and at least 50 data points with regard to the physical fibre data, in the form of one or more physical fibre property distributions with regard to at least one physical property selected from fibre length, fibre width and fibre shape. The data points are combined in multivariate data processing for prediction of properties of the product, on the basis of calibrations previously executed on samples with known properties.

摘要: A multiply paper web comprises a base ply of a post-manufactured sheet such as reused old newsprint or reused office waste. An upper and/or lower ply is bonded to the base ply to cover any printing or contamination of the base ply, thus allowing the resulting web to be reprinted or used for writing or packaging grades. The base ply is not repulped, reducing water and energy usage in the manufacturing process. The upper and lower plies may be wet formed or dry formed. Dry formed upper and/or lower plies result in a paper product utilizing little or no water in the manufacturing process, and no aqueous effluent. The post-manufactured base ply provides the strength ply.

摘要: Method and apparatus for manufacturing planar fiber webs from reinforcing fibers which are oriented in their passage through a hydrodynamic orientation section and deposited on a filter surface. In the process, the rotating orientation section produces a laminar flow pattern causing the reinforcing fibers in the slurry to be oriented. The filter surface is rotated, as is the orientation section, to hasten the extraction of the slurry liquid by filtration, to improve the degree of orientation of the fibers, and to fix the oriented fiber cake on the filter area. Extraction of the slurry liquid by filtration eliminates the need for washing or rewashing.
