    摘要: A circuit breaker enclosure consists of a cover and a case designed for robotic assembly of the circuit breaker components. A current transformer assembly and a printed wire board containing the electronic trip unit circuit are precisely positioned within the case and cover by means of a transitory circuit breaker case support platform. The transitory support platform includes four upstanding posts that pass through openings formed in the circuit breaker case and are received within corresponding openings through the circuit breaker cover. Leads extending from the current transformer assembly within the case become automatically positioned within corresponding openings through the printed wire board by means of tapered lead-in openings formed within the circuit breaker cover.

    摘要: A ground fault accessory for a molded case circuit breaker is provided by converting a shunt trip accessory to automatically trip the breaker when a ground fault occurs. A printed circuit mounted in the housing with the shunt trip eliminates the need for a separate ground fault relay. The ground fault relay and the shunt trip are made available in the same accessory requiring no additional mounting of equipment or external wiring while conserving space which is scarce in load centers and other locations where both ground fault and shunt trip are desired.

    摘要: A ground fault circuit interrupter interconnect arrangement provides wireless connection with line and neutral main current terminals by insertion through an aperture in the interrupter magnetic sensor module to form a magnetic sensor plug-in subassembly. The electronics components and trip solenoid are mounted to the interrupter printed wire board. The magnetic sensor subassembly is plugged into the printed wire board for interconnection with the electronics components. This allows the interrupter to be assembled in a completely automated process.

    摘要: At least one stationary electrical contact is fixedly mounted in a housing and an equal number of corresponding movable contacts is affixed to a movable member pivotally mounted within the housing and positioned thereon to mate with the stationary contact, however, first biasing means are coupled between the movable member and the housing to retard mating of the contacts. An actuating member is slidably pivotally mounted within the housing and adapted to engage the movable member, with biasing means coupled between the actuating member and the housing to overcome the first biasing means and urge the movable and stationary contacts into mating relation when the actuating and movable members have been engaged. Release means, controlled by circuit fault sensing means, are positioned adjacent the actuating member for causing the actuating arm to be released from the movable member when predetermined circuit conditions are detected by the sensing means, to disjoin the stationary and movable contacts.

    摘要: Ground fault circuit breaker structure characterized by an insulating integral housing having a pair of side-by-side compartments that are separated by a partition wall. A circuit breaker is located in one compartment and a ground fault detector is located in the other compartment and isolated from the circuit breaker. The ground fault detector comprises a differential transformer comprising a current monitoring core, a plurality of primary windings on the core, each being one of a line and a neutral conductor of an A.C. electrical distribution system, a secondary winding sensing current unbalance between the primary windings, means responsive to a predetermined sensing signal to open the line conductor; and the line conductor extending between the circuit breaker trip means and through aperture means in the partition wall and through the magnetic core and back through the aperture means to the load terminal. The means responsive to a predetermined sensing signal including a pivotally movable member extending through the aperture means and movable against the trip member to unlatch the trip member.

An indicator, carried by linkage interconnecting the solenoid and trip mechanism, is moved into registry with an opening in the breaker case only upon actuation of the solenoid to thus indicate the occurrence of a ground fault trip function.

    摘要: An electric receptacle with ground fault protection characterized by an insulating rectangular housing adapted for mounting in a wall outlet box. The housing comprises opposite end and edge walls with front and rear sides open and with a transverse partition dividing a chamber formed by the ends and side walls into a pair of side-by-side compartments. Partition aperture means between the compartments and the first compartment communicating with the open front side and the second compartment communicating with the open rear side. Receptacle components are disposed in the first compartment and electronic components are disposed in the second compartment, and the components in each compartment are so disposed as to minimize the space requirements for the receptacle. The receptacle components include a contact arm which carries one contact for each of two pairs of contacts and the arm is movable between open and closed positions of the contacts and is operatively connected to a latch member releasably holding the arm in the contact closed position. Ground fault sensing means for monitoring the flow of current through the receptacle is provided for releasing the latch member, whereby the contacts on the arm are opened and closed sequentially.
