[Also in Divisions B3, B7 and F4] An extensible sheet more particularly for containers for storage of liquid gas has an enclosed area 6 bounded by corrugations 1-4 which do not intersect and extend beyond the enclosed area. The corrugations may be of symmetrical or unsymmetrical V-section and extend to the edge of the sheet. There are four corrugations at right angles to one another which form a square area. Sheets with triangular and hexagonal areas are described. In Fig. 5 opposed corrugations 42, 44 and 43, 45 have their crests offset in opposite directions and the enclosed area is in the plane of the crests. Fig. 3 (not shown) is similar to Fig. 5 but the corrugations are not normal to the sides of the square enclosed area. When the sheets are welded together to form a container corrugations meeting at the corners of the container are joined together. A container for storage of liquid gas (see Division F4) in a ship (see Division B7) is described and a method of construction (see Division B3).

摘要: An offset fin manufacturing method for manufacturing offset fins includes a feeding step of feeding a strip plate, a connection forming step of forming a connection in the strip plate, and an offset fin forming step of bending a planar plate portion located between corresponding two of the connections. In the offset fin forming step, each offset fin is formed such that two of top surface portions, which are located at an upstream end and a downstream end, respectively, of the offset fin in a feed direction of the strip plate, are respectively and directly connected to corresponding two of the connections. One of two of lateral surface portions joined to a corresponding one of the two of the top surface portions is not offset, and thereby a length of the corresponding one of the two of the top surface portions measured along a wave continuation direction is increased.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing highly dimensionally accurate, deep-drawn half shells having a bottom region, a jacket and optionally having a flange, wherein a half shell pre-formed from a blank is formed into a finished half shell, wherein the pre-formed half shell has excess blank material on account of its geometrical shape, and the half shell being upset by way of at least one pressing operation in an upsetting tool to form the finished half shell during the forming of the pre-formed half shell into its finished shape on account of the excess blank material. The object of specifying a method and an apparatus, by way of which the process reliability can be increased during the production of a half shell, is achieved by way of the abovementioned method by virtue of the fact that the size of the upset gap is reduced during the closing of the upsetting tool to the actual wall thickness of the jacket of the pre-formed half shell. In addition, the object is achieved by way of an upsetting tool according to the invention by virtue of the fact that two side walls are provided which, together with the bottom region of the die of the second tool half, form a corresponding die, and the side walls can be displaced perpendicularly or obliquely with respect to the movement direction of the die.

摘要: A system and method of increasing a dwell time in a foil stamping press is provided. The dwell time is readily adjusted on the fly by the user for a given operating rate. A timer is used to adjust the press to stop on top dead center with changes in images per hour. An air clutch and an original equipment air brake are used in tandem to provide the desired dwell time. A pair of timers governs a pneumatic switch for control of the air clutch and the air brake. The present system and method increase die image area capacity as compared to conventional foil stamping presses. The increased dwell time press yields a flawless foil stamped image for an impression pressure less than that required in a conventional machine for a given die, mounted at a given height upon a stationary platen, and at a given temperature.

摘要: A sheet forming tool (1) for the manufacture of a corrugated sheet has a lower tool element (40) and an upper tool element (50), each of the upper tool element and the lower tool element having a front side (23, 33, 41) and a rear side (25, 35, 42). The lower tool element (40) comprises a first base element (2, 4, 6, 8) and a first finger element (3, 5, 7, 9) projecting from said first base element (2, 4, 6, 8). The first finger element (3, 5, 7, 9) forms a first ridge (22, 24, 26, 28) for forming a corrugation peak in the sheet. The upper tool element (50) comprises a second base element (12, 14) and a second finger element (13, 15) projecting from said second base element (12, 14), the second finger element (13, 15) forming a second ridge (32, 34) for forming a corrugation trough in said sheet. The first ridge (22, 24, 26, 28) is arranged opposite to the second ridge (32, 34) and the first ridge (22, 24, 26, 28) is offset from the second ridge (32, 34) so as to allow for an engagement of the first finger element (3, 5, 7, 9) and the second finger element (13, 15) in an engaged position. Each of the first ridge (22, 24, 26, 28) and second ridge (32, 34) comprises a main portion (20) and an end portion (11, 21) and the angle ? (36) between each of the first ridge (22, 24, 26, 28) and second ridge (32, 34) in the main portion (20) and the corresponding front side (23, 33, 41) is at least partly different from the angle between each of the first ridge (22, 24, 26, 28) and second ridge (32, 34) in the end portion (11, 21) and the corresponding front side and a space is provided between the first finger element (3, 5, 7, 9) and the neighboring second finger element (13, 15) in the engaged position.
