摘要: A grille for a vehicle wall opening may comprise a frame, a pair of first louvers, and a second louver. The frame may be receivable on the vehicle wall in an installed position extending around the opening, and may have an inboard side and an outboard side. The pair of first louvers may be supported on the frame, and may be transversely inclined to an outboard direction at a first angle. The second louver may be located between the first louvers, fixed relative to the first louvers, and inclined to the outboard direction at a second angle different from the first angle.

The housing has an air inlet and an air outlet stack defining a flow path. The nozzle directs the flow of heated gas substantially in the flow path direction. The nozzle has an outlet end with a predefined shape. The multiple tabs are adjacent to and spaced about the outlet end. Each tab has a side adjacent the outlet end, and at least three sides in the flow of heated gas. The sides in the flow of heated gas form at least two corners.

摘要: An inlet, positioned to access the flow of air passing around and under a moving vehicle, draws in air which is conveyed through a duct and discharged to cool a brake on a vehicle. The inlet has a closure so that access of cooling air may be denied when the brake temperature is less than a predetermined temperature and opened only when the brake temperature exceeds that predetermined temperature. The closure is operated by a temperature-operated actuator. In embodiments the actuator may be suitably positioned to sense a temperature representative of the brake temperature and to incorporate a thermally activated phase change, active or smart material preselected to operate the inlet closure when the sensed brake temperature exceeds the predetermined temperature.

摘要: A duct assembly including a first duct and a second duct that are connected by a receptacle and a fitting that are moved in a transverse direction to assemble the first duct to the second duct. The receptacle defines a slot that includes an inner wall and an outer wall. The inner and outer wall define a fitting insertion opening on one lateral side and a fitting seat on the opposite lateral side. A seal is provided on a face wall of the fitting. Triangular side walls extend between the inner and outer walls. A locking tab on a triangular side wall is received within a tab receiver on the outer wall of the fitting.
