摘要: A system of solar panels over a water reservoir may include a plurality of piers secured to a floor of the water reservoir and extending from the floor to a fixed elevation above a maximum water elevation of the water reservoir. The system of solar panels may also include at least one support structure on the plurality of piers. The system of solar panels may also include a plurality of solar panels supported by the support structure over at least a portion of the water reservoir. The plurality of solar panels both reduce evaporation from the water reservoir and generate solar electricity.

摘要: A stop for stopping a trolley on a rail is described. The trolley comprises a set of wheels, including a first wheel and the rail provides, at least in part, a running surface, including a first portion and a second portion thereof, for the first wheel. The stop comprises an actuator providing a third portion of the running surface between the first portion and the second portion and an arm, coupled to the actuator. The stop is arrangeable in a first configuration, wherein the arm is arranged to block the trolley therepast. The stop is arrangeable in a second configuration, wherein the arm is arranged to allow the trolley therepast. The stop is arranged to move from the first configuration to the second configuration by actuation of the actuator, preferably by a movement of the actuator in a direction transverse to the third portion of the running surface.

摘要: A farming system (1) for row crop installations (10) comprises: a first plurality of plants (10A) and a second plurality of fruit or vegetable plants (10B), disposed along a first longitudinal axis (L1) and a second longitudinal axis (L2), respectively, and mutually spaced along a transverse direction (T) to form a first row (F1) and a second row (F2); a supporting structure (11), configured to support the plants and including, for the first row (F1) and the second row (F2), a first plurality of posts (11A) and a second plurality of posts (11B); a first rail (12A), connected to the first plurality of posts (11A); a second rail (12B), connected to the second plurality of posts (11B). The first rail (12A) and the second rail (12B) are oriented longitudinally and spaced transversely from each other to define a track (12). The system comprises a trolley (13), movable along the track (12) and including a movement actuator (131), configured to move the trolley (13) on the track (12).

摘要: Systems and methods for improved operations of ski lifts increase skier safety at on-boarding and off-boarding locations by providing an always-on, always-alert system that “watches” these locations, identifies developing problem situations, and initiates mitigation actions. One or more video cameras feed live video to a video processing module. The video processing module feeds resulting sequences of images to an artificial intelligence (AI) engine. The AI engine makes an inference regarding existence of a potential problem situation based on the sequence of images. This inference is fed to an inference processing module, which determines if the inference processing module should send an alert or interact with the lift motor controller to slow or stop the lift.

摘要: An Urban Intermodal Freight System is capable of transporting large volumes and tonnage of freight by containerized or other means on a mass transit rail system. It captures excess capacity in the existing mass transit rail infrastructure to move packages, parcels, and freight by using miniaturized intermodal cargo containers that are designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing transit infrastructure, while displacing delivery trucks from increasingly crowded city streets. By enabling inbound trucks to transfer their cargo to the Urban Intermodal Freight System at a city's outskirts, freight is delivered without trucks entering congested downtown areas, greatly alleviating traffic congestion, delays, greenhouse gas emissions and other negative environmental impacts. The Linear Loading Dock and Conveyor System may have other useful applications, for example to access a facility, building or vehicle, or in other circumstances where off street truck parking or loading docks are not available.
