摘要: A control method and control circuit for a switched-mode power supply (SMPS) and a control chip are disclosed. The SMPS is switched between different operating modes based on different levels of its output voltage. When the output voltage is lower than a first reference and the difference between it and the first reference exceeds a threshold, an operating frequency of a power transistor and output voltage are controlled to satisfy a proportional relationship defined by an associated slope. When the output voltage is lower than the first reference and the difference between it and the first reference is below the threshold, the power transistor is controlled to operate at a fixed frequency. When the output voltage is higher than the first reference, the power transistor is controlled to operate at a variable frequency.

The controlled power switching arrangement communicates with the general controller of the cascaded modular power converter over a communication channel. The communication means send the commands to start or end the start-up process of the cascaded modular converter.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for continuous conduction mode operation in multi-output power converters are described herein. During a switching cycle, secondary current may be delivered via a diode to a secondary output. Prior to beginning a subsequent switching cycle, a diverting current may be provided to a lower voltage secondary output on a parallel path. In this way diode current may be reduced to substantially zero prior to the subsequent switching cycle.

摘要: A detector compares a drain voltage with a first threshold voltage and outputs a first detection signal. An ON-counter detects a period of time during which current flows in a switching circuit based on the first detection signal, counts the period of time based on a predetermined clock cycle, and outputs an ON-count value. A first comparator receives the ON-count value and an ON-threshold value and outputs a first comparison signal when the ON-count value and the ON-threshold value match. A second comparator receives the ON-count value and a decreased ON threshold value, compares the ON-count value and the decreased ON-threshold value, and outputs a second comparison signal. An ON-mask time adjuster receives the second comparison signal and outputs an ON-threshold value for adjusting a mask time and a decreased ON-threshold value that is less than the ON threshold value.

The protection of the transistor gate and the adjusting of a receiver threshold voltage for different I/O (input/output) voltages and levels can be completed through automatic detection of the on-chip voltage and automatic adjusting.

摘要: A switching control circuit for use in controlling a resonant flyback power converter generates a first driving signal and a second driving signal. The first driving signal is configured to turn on the first transistor to generate a first current to magnetize a transformer and charge a resonant capacitor. The transformer and charge a resonant capacitor are connected in series. The second driving signal is configured to turn on the second transistor to generate a second current to discharge the resonant capacitor. During a power-on period of the resonant flyback power converter, the second driving signal includes a plurality of short-pulses configured to turn on the second transistor for discharging the resonant capacitor. A pulse-width of the short-pulses of the second driving signal is short to an extent that the second current does not exceed a current limit threshold.
