Abstract: The doors of a type including closure elements are guided at the side and which are provided with a drive mechanism. To simplify the drive mechanism, and to increase the operational reliability, there are inventively provided one or more motors that are secured to the closure elements and that have a gear wheel which meshes with a track that extends parallel to the lateral guide rails. Preferably, the gear wheels and the lateral guide rollers are coaxially disposed, with the guide rollers being freely rotatable.

Abstract: A gearmotor for the alternate drive of two operations has a housing which receives a drive pinion, mounted on the output shaft of the reduction gear. The drive pinion is able to engage alternately with a first rack cable A and a second rack cable B, both mounted parallel in a sliding guide that can move in the housing in a plane perpendicular to the shaft of the drive pinion between two end positions in each of which one of the two cables is engaged with the drive pinion while the other cable is in a disengaged position. Abstract: A horizontally sliding door section with a floor-engaging wheel driven from a motor. The wheel and its drive are located within the front-to-back extent of the door section in a housing hinged at one end on the bottom of the frame of the door section. A lead screw operated by a manual crank can be used to pivot the housing up about its hinge to raise the wheel from engagement with the floor of the building. The housing for the wheel has a removable front wall which carries the front bearing for the axle of the wheel, so that removal of this front wall disengages this bearing from the wheel axle.

Abstract: A closure operator such as a garage door operator utilizes an apertured flexible tape. The tape is enclosed in a guide and a drive sprocket has teeth engaging the apertures to apply both tension and compression forces to open and close a door. The apertures are enlarged in width and length and the tape has fewer apertures per-unit-length compared to the prior art tape. This decreases the stress per-unit-area in the tape at each tooth and increases the shear strength of the webs between successive apertures to be more nearly equal to the tensile strength of the tension band areas of the tape.
