Abstract:
Devices for retaining shower curtains in bath tubs to prevent mildew, fungus, bacteria and mold from growing at the interface of the shower curtain and the bath tub are disclosed. The devices are capable of being installed in existing showers and pull the curtain back from the shower tub.
Abstract:
A transcorporeal delivery system and method provide the ability to perform minimally invasive valve replacement surgery. The transcorporeal delivery system provides a device and method for transcorporeal (traversing the body surface) low profile delivery of a replacement valve, intracorporeal (inside the body) stabilization for suture placement, and minimal change to current valve replacement surgical implantation techniques.

Abstract:
The disclosure relates to the treatment of rods made of metal, particularly to the method of reclamation of used standard length rods, such as pump rods already used in the mechanical deep-pumping extraction of oil, as well as to the product made with the help of the mentioned method. The method of remanufacturing of standard length rods includes the reheating of the rod body to a temperature favorable for the plastic treatment of the rod such as plastic deformation of the rod body under pressure. Such methods allow for the reclamation of rods of the desired geometric form and enhancement of the mechanical properties of the remanufactured rod. The technical outcome of the claimed invention consists in the reclamation of rods of the desired geometric form and enhancement of the mechanical properties of the remanufactured rod.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, the present disclosure describes methods and systems for detecting microbes in a sample. The methods are generally applicable to quantifying the number of target bacteria in a sample counted from a detection region of a flow cytometer histogram. The detection methods can be employed in the presence of other microorganisms and other non-target microbe components to selectively quantify the amount of a target microbe. The methods are advantageous over those presently existing for testing of foodstuffs and diagnostic evaluation in their speed, accuracy and ease of use. Various swab collection devices and kits useful for practicing the present disclosure are also described herein.
Abstract:
A propulsion generator which employs one or more unbalanced rotors, such as fly wheels or other unbalance rotating members, which can be connected at a lower portion of a downhole coiled tubing string or other downhole tubular string for inducing propulsion of the coiled tubing. The unbalanced rotors may be oriented at different positions with respect to each other. The instantaneous fluid flow through the propulsion generator is substantially equivalent to the average fluid flow rate through the tool to provide relatively consistent fluid flow to downhole motors below the propulsion generator for operating the drill bit and/or cutters.
Abstract:
A safety neural injection system includes at least a partially hollow cannula having an inside diameter, an outside diameter, a first length, a side port located coaxially along the hollow cannula for fluid communication between the inside and the outside of the hollow cannula, and an open distal end. The safety neural injection system also includes a flexible stylet with a shaped tip. The flexible stylet is capable of being releasably locked in a position within the hollow cannula and extends at least the first length of the hollow cannula. The hollow cannula proximate to the distal end includes a rigid bend so as to facilitate placement of the distal end at the treatment site.
Abstract:
Piezoelectric sensor controllers may facilitate detection and identification of various potential fault states with parameter measurements. In an illustrative embodiment of a piezoelectric-based sensor having response-parameter-based fault diagnosis, the sensor includes a piezoelectric transducer and a controller. The controller drives the piezoelectric transducer to generate bursts of acoustic energy and, based on a response of the piezoelectric transducer to said driving, identifies a corresponding transducer state from a set of potential states including multiple transducer fault states. An illustrative embodiment of a sensing method having fault diagnosis, the method includes: driving a piezoelectric transducer to generate a burst of acoustic energy; monitoring a response of the piezoelectric transducer to said driving; identifying, based on said response, a corresponding transducer state from a set of potential states including multiple transducer fault states; and if the transducer state is a fault state, reporting that fault state.
Abstract:
A method of operating a driver circuit includes receiving a data signal at a first input of an amplification circuit; amplifying, using the amplification circuit, the data signal to produce an output signal through an output pin; attenuating, using a feedback network, the output signal to produce a feedback signal; coupling the feedback signal to a second input of the amplification circuit; detecting, using a control circuit, a fault condition; and decoupling, responsive to detecting the fault condition, the feedback signal from the second input of the amplification circuit. In some embodiments, the driver circuit transmits a fault condition signal to an electronic control unit of an automobile.
