Abstract:
The invention relates to a servomotor regulating unit having an adjustable proportional range. The servomotor is responsive to the output variable of the regulator which in turn is responsive to a sensed deviation voltage. An R-C unit in a an input circuit of the regulator has the charging voltage thereof switched on and off in synchronism with the switching on and off of the servometer. In known regulators the width of the proportional range and the amplification is adjusted by varying the charging voltage of the R-C unit with a potentiometer whereas in this invention they are adjusted independently of each other by limiting the voltage at the R-C unit to an adjustable value that is below the charging voltage and by making the charging timeconstant of the R-C unit independent of this limiting value.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a thermostatic valve or the like of the type in which a spindle having a valve closure element at one end thereof is acted upon in one direction by a pressure responsive element and is biased in the other direction by a spring. The spindle is provided with screw threads and the spring which is conically shaped, has a coil portion complementary to and threadably engageable with the screw threads. The tension of the spring is adjusted by rotation of the spindle with a screwdriver or wrench depending on the type of tool engaging fitting the spindle is provided with at the lower end thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a pressure regulating and cut-off valve for fuel pumps which includes a setting piston and a combination of two pistons for regulating the pressure outlet between predetermined pressure levels. A pair of springs are provided for resisting movement of the setting piston which are arranged in parallel and have different rectilinear spring rates. The providing of this pair of springs results in space saving, permits a wider adjustment range and is less affected by manufacturing tolerance deviations.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a speed and voltage control system for an alternating current motor such as a polyphase induction motor. The system includes voltage and frequency regulators and an inverter. In order to avoid the damaging effects of reverse currents and excessive voltages due to hyper-synchronous speed operation upon reducing motor speed, the direct current voltage is made the independent variable with the control frequency being dependent on the actual direct current voltage at the inverter.
Abstract:
THE INVENTION RELATES TO A NOISE REDUCING ASSEMBLY FOR A REFRIGERATION UNIT OF THE HERMETICALLY SEALED TYPE. THE ASSEMBLY INCLUDES WALLS FORMING A HEAT INSULATING CHAMBER SURROUNDING THE NOISE REDUCING CHAMBER WITH A SUBSTANTIALLY STATICALLY CONTAINED GAS IN SAID HEAT INSULATION CHAMBER.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a lubricating system for a motor compressor assembly. The assembly has an oil sump and the motor compressor unit has vertically extending shaft means with a central lubricating bore, the lower part of the shaft means being disposed in the sump with the mouth of the bore being in fluid communication with the lubricating oil in the sump. The mouth of the shaft bore is provided with a propeller to effect an increased rate of lubricating oil delivery.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wheel drive system incorporating a hydraulic motor of the toothed wheel type. The motor portion comprises a rotating casing and a stationary shaft member. The motor casing is rotatably journalled in a hub member and the casing has a flange to which a ground engaging wheel may be attached. Expanding and contracting chambers are formed by relative movement between a toothed ring member which is fixedly attached to the casing for rotation therewith and surrounds a toothed wheel member, the ring member being rotatable about its own axis and the toothed wheel member is capable of only orbital movement about the ring axis. The casing and shaft member having cooperating fluid passages for feeding and exhausting the expanding and contracting chambers.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a washing machine drive comprising a motor and a planetary gear set having friction wheel gears. Clutch means are provided whereby two speeds, which are a spinning speed and a washing speed, are obtained by locking the planetary gear carrier to the sun gear or the casing. The clutch is operative in axial directions but is constructed so as to prevent axially directed forces from being transmitted to the friction wheels of the planetary gear set.
Abstract:
IT IS FOUND THAT AS THE SEMICONDUCTOR COMPOSITION OF AN ELECTRONIC BISTABLE SEMICONDUCTOR SWITHCHING ELEMENT THERE MAY BE EMPLOYED SULFUR OR ANY OTHER SOLID GROUP VI ELEMENT, PREFERABLY SELENIUM, IN ADMIXTURE WITH ANTIMONY WITH LESS RIGID CONTROL WITH RESPECT TO PROPORTIONS THAN IS CONVENTIONAL FOR STIBNITE SWITCHES PROVIDED THAT THE COMPOSITION IS USED IN THE FORM OF A LAYER OF A THICKNESS NO GREATER THAN 1 MM. IT IS FOUND ADVANTAGEOUS TO PROVIDE THE LAYER ON AN ELECTRODE WHICH IS OF A HIGHLY THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE MATERIAL AND HAS A CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA GREATER THAN THE CROSS-SECT
Abstract:
The invention relates to a rotary piston machine of the type having an externally toothed star member and a surrounding internally toothed ring member. The star and ring members have cooperably engaging teeth and are eccentrically offset relative to each other. The ring member teeth are in the form of rotatable rollers which are journaled in casing portions on opposite sides of the ring member. The ring member has slots in radially aligned and surrounding relation to the rollers and plates in the slots are biased into sealing engagement with the rollers by spring means and/or hydraulic means.
