Abstract:
A wind turbine assembly for covering wind energy into electrical energy includes a housing that is positioned adjacent to a roadway. An intake chute is integrated into the housing and the intake chute is oriented to face oncoming traffic on the roadway thereby facilitating the intake chute to direct wind produced by the oncoming traffic into the housing. A wind turbine is rotatably disposed within the intake chute such that the wind turbine is rotated by the wind produced by the oncoming traffic. A generator is positioned in the housing and the generator is in mechanical communication with the wind turbine. The generator is rotated when the wind turbine rotates to convert wind energy into electrical energy.

A recirculating linear generator comprises a motor, a pulley system, two series of coil structures each arranged coaxially, a positive lead, and a negative lead. The pulley system includes a driver pulley driven by the motor and a take-up pulley. A belt couples to the driver pulley and the take-up pulley, so when driven, the belt travels along the driver pulley and the take-up pulley rotates. A series of ferromagnetic couple to the belt. The belt and masses traverse through a center (i.e., an axis) of the first series and second series of coil structures, and the first series and second series of coil structures each comprise a single electrical path. The positive lead couples to positive ends of the first and second series of coil structures, and the negative lead couples to negative ends of the first and second series of coil structures.

Methods and systems are provided for a winch including a motor and a contactor assembly coupled around the motor. In one example, the contactor assembly is coupled around and in face-sharing contact with a portion of an outer surface of the motor. Additionally, the contactor assembly may include two or more coils spaced apart from one another within the contactor assembly.

A self-powered generator disclosed here includes a stator member, a rotor member, a direct current motor, and an alternating current motor. The rotor member is configured to rotate within the stator member, and the direct current motor is coupled to a rotor shaft of the rotor member, where the direct current motor is configured to rotate the rotor member within the stator member via the rotor shaft to generate electricity. However, the direct current motor is shut off when a predetermined amount of electricity is generated, where a portion of the electricity generated is fed to an alternating current motor coupled to the rotor shaft, where the alternating current motor continuously drives the rotor member within the stator member in a closed loop arrangement to generate a continuous supply of electricity.

An oil lubricated compressor having a universal motor, efficient starting and re-starting characteristics, and a long operating life. The oil lubricated compressor can have a brushed or brushless universal motor which can drive a cooling fan and a pump. The universal motor can achieve a high torque to voltage ratio, as well as a high torque to current ratio, upon starting or re-starting of the compressor. Optionally, the oil lubricated compressor can use a single cooling fan disposed in the compressor at a location which is between the universal motor and a cylinder head of the pump.

The shaft supporting device comprises a bearing which supports the output shaft in rotatable manner and a mounting part which fixedly holds the bearing in a position spaced apart from the motor body. One end of the mounting part is fixed to the bearing. The other end of the mounting part has a shape which fits on the motor body, and is removably fixed to the motor body. The mounting part is formed so that a center axis of the bearing coincides with a rotation axis of the output shaft when the other end is fitted on the motor body.

An alternator unit having a vibration reducing damper includes first rotating member, and second rotating member connected by a clutch member. A pulley is rotatably disposed on either the first rotating member or the second rotating member by a bearing and receives torque from outside. A first damper plate is fixed to one side of the pulley, and first spring grooves are radially spaced apart at a predetermined distance. A pair of second damper plates each have one side fixed to the second rotating member and are spaced apart from the first damper plate. The second damper plates have second spring grooves formed at positions corresponding to the first spring grooves. Damper springs are inserted into the first and second spring grooves, and transmit torque to the second damper plates and the second rotating member to absorb a rotational difference and attenuate vibration using compressive elastic force.

An integrated controller for an operator unit for powering an overhead garage roller door or roller shutter is described. The operator unit comprises a motor, an output drive assembly, a timing assembly unit, and a clutch assembly for providing selective engagement between motor powered operation and manual operation (provided by a chain rotating a chain wheel). The motor is arranged to drive a shaft which, in turn, provides drive to the roller door or shutter assembly (not shown), which includes an axle around which the roller door or shutter is wound. The integrated controller comprises an inverter for receiving a single phase power supply and supplying three phase power to drive the motor; and a drive controller in operable association with the inverter for providing active management of the operation of the motor.
