A beam switching antenna method and apparatus for controlling a beam switching antenna system including an antenna element for forming a beam, at least one conductive reflector for reflecting the beam, and a ground switch for applying a reference voltage to the at least one conductive reflector, the method includes forming the beam of the antenna element, and imparting the formed beam with a predetermined beam pattern by controlling the ground switch to apply the reference voltage to at least one conductive reflector.

An electrolyte includes an eutectic mixture composed of (a) a hetero cyclic compound having a predetermined chemistry figure, and (b) an ionizable lithium salt. An electrochemical device having the electrolyte. The eutectic mixture included in the electrolyte exhibits inherent characteristics of an eutectic mixture such as excellent thermal stability and excellent chemical stability, thereby improving the problems such as evaporation, ignition and side reaction of an electrolyte caused by the usage of existing organic solvents.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a transmitter in a frequency division multiple access communication system. The transmitter generates a plurality of pilot symbols, and groups the plurality of pilot symbols into a plurality of groups according to a location of a subcarrier. In addition, the transmitter inverse fast Fourier transforms the pilot symbol in each group, and sequentially outputs a first pilot symbol sequence corresponding to each group. The transmitter generates a plurality of pilot blocks respectively corresponding to the plurality of groups, and converts the first pilot symbol sequence of each group into a second pilot symbol sequence of a corresponding pilot block among the plurality of pilot blocks.

A method and apparatus for controlling a beam switching antenna system of a mobile communication terminal, the method includes forming a beam; determining whether an earphone is connected to the mobile communication terminal; and controlling the formed beam to have non-directivity if the earphone is connected to the mobile communication terminal. The apparatus for controlling a beam switching antenna includes a signal source for supplying the antenna element with a signal to form the beam; and a controller for controlling the ground switch to apply the reference voltage to the at least one conductive reflector, to thereby imparting the formed beam with a predetermined beam pattern.

A communication resource allocation method for solving resource request imbalance content in a cell is provided. Considering a propagation environment, the base station allocates a whispering resource to a whispering area, the whispering resource being one part of the communication resource and the whispering area being a peripheral area of the first base station, and allocates a speaking resource to a speaking area, the speaking resource being other parts of the communication resource and the speaking area being a border area of a cell. When the resource request of the whispering area is increased, the base station further allocates a part of the speaking resource to the whispering area or increases a ratio of the whispering resource. When the resource request of the speaking area is increased, the base station controls a threshold value for identifying the whispering and speaking areas or increases a ratio of the speaking resource.

Negative active materials including metal nanocrystal composites comprising metal nanocrystals having an average particle diameter of about 20 nm or less and a carbon coating layer are provided. The negative active material includes metal nanocrystals coated by a carbon layer, which decreases the absolute value of the change in volume during charge/discharge and decreases the formation of cracks in the negative active material resulting from a difference in the volume change rate during charge/discharge between metal and carbon. Therefore, high charge/discharge capacities and improved capacity retention capabilities can be obtained.

An apparatus to collect a used toner on a photoconductive drum in a laser printer, includes: a used toner collecting bucket having a used toner entry port into which the used toner on the photoconductive drum flows; a cleaning blade installed at the used toner entry port to guide the used toner to the used toner entry port by scraping off the used toner from the photoconductive drum; and a used toner transferring unit to transfer the used toner so that the used toner accumulated at the used toner entry port is evenly distributed within the used toner collecting bucket.

A method of realizing hard handoff between frequency assignments in a mobile communication system is disclosed. The method is capable of building and managing base stations having different FA while significantly reducing the probability of call drops during hard handoff between FA, such that the call capacity can be increased. The method of realizing hard handoff between different FA includes the steps of setting guard sectors among sectors of a plurality of base stations, allowing a mobile station to transmit a message which requests handoff at a boundary area between the base stations to a base station currently in service, implementing soft handoff between the base stations, and implementing hard handoff between FA after implementing the soft handoff.

A facsimile transmission apparatus having an electrostatic printing system uses plain paper as a recording sheet. The apparatus uses an electrophotographic developing system and includes: (1) an upper frame mold which contains a photosensitive drum assembly with a photosensitive drum and a charging device, the upper frame also contains an exposure device and a fixing device; (2) a lower frame molded in the shape of a box with an open top portion, the lower frame contains a developing device for selectively attaching toner to indicate a visible charging image on the photosensitive drum, a transfer device for transferring the visible image onto the photosensitive drum, a pickup roller for picking up the paper, and a conveyor roller for conveying the paper to the developing device.
