Abstract:
A cross-pin electro-static-discharge (ESD) protection device protects against ESD zaps between two I/O pins. Pin A is connected to a drain of a bus-switch transistor and pin B is connected to the transistor's source. An ESD protection device on pin A has an n-channel shunting transistor to an internal ground bus. The gate of the shunting transistor is a cross-gate node that is capacitivly coupled to pin A, and has a leaker resistor to ground. An n-channel cross-grounding transistor has its gate connected to the same cross-gate node, but it connects the internal ground bus to pin B, which is grounded in the pin-to-pin ESD test. An ESD pulse on pin A drives the cross-gate node high, turning on both the shunting transistor and the cross-grounding transistor. The floating internal ground bus is connected to ground by pin B, grounding the substrate of the bus-switch transistor to prevent its turn-on.
Abstract:
ESD protection is provided by local ESD-protection devices between each pad and a common-discharge line (CDL). Each ESD-protection device has p-well or p-substrate taps to a local ground rather than to the CDL, reducing noise coupling from the I/O's through the CDL. Another ESD clamp that bypasses the CDL is provided between each pair of internal power and ground buses. Better protection of core circuits during power-to-ground ESD events is provided by bypassing the CDL since only one ESD clamp rather than two ESD-protection devices must turn on. The ESD clamps and ESD-protection devices can be gate-coupled n-channel transistors with coupling capacitors between the pad and the transistor gate. Devices can also be substrate-triggered transistors or active ESD clamps that include an inverter between a coupling capacitor to the CDL and the n-channel transistor gate.

Abstract:
A symmetrical analog power amplifier employing CMOS technology comprising an input stage and an improved output stage having a pull up/down arrangement to provide improved operating characteristics. The amplifier includes a pair of input transistors that receive an input signal and a node on which a first output voltage is generated. The amplifier further includes an improved output stage comprising an intermediate current source circuit that includes a first current source transistor, a control transistor and a second current source transistor connected in series. A first output voltage is generated on a node interconnecting the control transistor and the second current source transistor. A second output voltage, which is responsive to the first output voltage, is generated on a node connecting the first current source transistor and the control transistor. The output stage further includes a first output transistor responsive to the first output voltage and a second output transistor responsive to the second output voltage. A third output voltage, which is the output voltage of the amplifier, is generated on an output node interconnecting the first and second output transistors. A power down circuit may be embodied in the amplifier to reduce its power consumption.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a method for attaching a steering wheel to a steering column. In a preferred embodiment, the attachment apparatus comprises a steering wheel armature having a collar for receiving a steering column. Preferably, the steering column includes a tapered portion adjacent a slotted portion, which is located between a flange and the tapered portion. The steering wheel armature is placed on the steering column with the flange and slot portion extending through the collar and above the steering wheel armature. A wedge having a ramped portion that surrounds a slot, which has a width adapted to accommodate the slotted portion of the steering column, is driven in a direction which forces the ramped portion underneath the flange of the steering column. The driving of the wedge forces the steering wheel armature against the tapered portion of the steering column and forms a wedge lock between the steering wheel armature collar and the steering column tapered portion.

Abstract:
An exemplary display device includes a rear housing, a front frame, a display module, a connecting assembly pivotally connecting the front frame to the rear housing, a latching member, a slidable key, and a clamping member. The clamping member forms a latching block latched to the latching member for securing the front frame to the rear housing. The display module can be detached from the front frame and the rear housing by operating the slidable key. Correspondingly, the latching of the latching block and the latching member can be released.
