Abstract: A dispenser system for providing variable carbonation can include a carbonated water source in communication with a carbonated water valve for controlling flow of carbonated water through the dispenser system; a still water source in communication with a still water valve for controlling flow of still water through the dispenser system; a nozzle in fluid communication with the carbonated water source and still water source; a processing device adapted to modulate the carbonated water and still water valves within a modulate cycle to achieve a ratio of carbonated to non-carbonated water; and a pour mechanism adapted to provide an input to the processing device to dispense the beverage.

Abstract: A system and method of manufacturing a metal vessel may include providing a preform being formed of work hardened aluminum. The preform may have an open portion, a closed portion, and body portion. A multiple segment mold may be closed around the preform. The multiple segment mold may include at least one projecting portion operative to partially deform the preform while closing the mold. The preform may be blow molded by causing a step-like change in pressure within the preform to cause the preform to take a shape defined by the mold when the mold is in the closed position. The molded preform may be removed from the mold.

Abstract: A machine and process for managing a connection with a portable terminal may include a detector for detecting a person. A transmitter may be configured to transmit a wireless signal in response to the detector detecting a person within a predetermined range of the machine. An identification unit may be configured to identify, in response to receiving the connection request signal, a portable terminal in communication with the machine, and establish a connection with the identified portable terminal. The machine may be a vending machine or a beverage dispenser.

Abstract: Sweetened compositions comprising at least one sweetener and rebaudioside X are provided herein. Rebaudioside X is present in the sweetened compositions in a concentration at or below the sweetness recognition threshold, while the at least one sweetener is present in a concentration above its sweetness recognition threshold. Rebaudioside X acts to enhance the sweetness of the sweetened compositions, e.g. beverages and concentrate compositions, thereby allowing for preparation of sweetened compositions with reduced calorie content. Methods of enhancing the sweetness of a sweetened composition with rebaudioside X are also provided herein.
