    Abstract: A self-aligning busbar assembly includes a housing, a busbar having a first terminal connecting end, a second terminal connecting end, and a jog portion disposed therebetween, and a front holder coupled to the housing and the busbar. The front holder includes an inner wall defining a busbar receiving aperture to receive at least a portion of the busbar, and at least one flexible tab extending inwardly from the inner wall into the busbar receiving aperture. The at least one flexible tab is configured to bias and center the at least a portion of the busbar within the busbar receiving aperture. At least one clearance is defined in the busbar receiving aperture between the inner wall and the busbar and is configured to enable at least one of the first and second terminal connecting ends to move to account for tolerances and/or variances during installation of the busbar assembly.

    Abstract: A connector assembly that includes first and second connector housings, which are configured to hold a plurality of male terminals, a pair of lock tabs, which are disposed on opposite sides of the first connector housing, and a male terminal protector that is engaged to the lock tabs to protect ends of the male terminals that are to engage the female terminals when the second connector housing is fully mated to the first connector housing.     Abstract: The present teachings provide for an electrical connector including a first housing, power terminals, and first and second shunts. The terminals and shunts are located within a cavity of defined by the first housing. The first housing is configured to mate with a second housing to transfer power between a power storage device and components of an electric or hybrid electric vehicle. The first shunt is configured to complete an interlock circuit. The second shunt is configured to complete a service disconnect circuit. The interlock circuit prevents the transfer of power between the first and second housings when the circuit is broken and allows it when complete. The service disconnect circuit causes the power storage device to be substantially electrically isolated from the rest of the vehicle when the circuit is broken.

    Abstract: A start-stop module for a vehicle can include a capacitor, one or more switches and a controller. The switches can be configured to connect the capacitor in parallel or in series with a battery of the vehicle. The controller can receive an input voltage having a magnitude based on a connection between the capacitor and the battery, and output a desired voltage that is appropriate for operating accessory loads of the vehicle. The controller can control the switches to switch between a standby mode and a cranking mode. The capacitor is in parallel with the battery in standby mode and in series with the battery in cranking mode. The controller can switch to the cranking mode when the engine is about to be restarted and return to standby mode after the engine has been restarted and when the battery voltage reaches the desired voltage for the accessory loads.
