    摘要: A control system for an automatic transmission is provided with a manual shift mode capable of performing a shift command made by manual operation. While in the manual shift mode and during the operation of a downshift command generated by a shift lever, a manual shift control unit calculates a degree of power required by a driver that, for example, takes into consideration an operation intent of the driver and a road condition. A post-downshift shift speed is then determined in accordance with the degree of required power and downshifting performed. By performing only one downshift command through manual operation, downshifting in accordance with the degree of power required by the driver is performed. Downshifting to a shift speed desired by the driver can thus be promptly performed, without the operation becoming a burden.

    摘要: An automatic transmission achieves a desired shift through an initial stage shift in which a first engagement element is released and a third engagement element is engaged, and a final stage shift in which a second engagement element is released and a fourth engagement element is engaged. A control apparatus sets an estimated rotation acceleration for a transmission input shaft in accordance with an input torque and an input torque rotation acceleration speed, and controls the release of the second engagement element for moving to the final stage shift according to the estimated rotation acceleration. As a result, it is possible to prevent a shifting delay and/or degradation that occurs between the initial stage and the latter stage by continuous transmission of the input rotation (engine rotation) change when moving from the initial stage to the later stage.

A control apparatus has a torque control capability for adjusting an input torque of a transmission during the pre-phase speed-change control, and ensures continuous changes in the input speed during the pre-phase and post-phase speed-change operations through adjustment of the input torque (torque reduction) to prevent bluntness from being caused between the pre-phase and post-phase speed-change operations.

    摘要: A hydraulic servo includes a cylinder, a piston and a rod. The piston divides the interior space of the cylinder between a closed hydraulic chamber and a back chamber which has an opening to the interior space of an automatic transmission. The rod is slidably mounted in the piston for relative movement through a predetermined distance. A frictional engagement element is engaged by the rod which is extended from one end of the cylinder by applying a hydraulic pressure to the hydraulic chamber. A passage is provided between the piston and the rod which is opened or closed by the relative movement between the piston and rod so that the hydraulic chamber and the back chamber are connected or disconnected. A valving arrangement (“closer”) closes the passage at the end of the return stroke of the piston toward the hydraulic chamber.
