Abstract:
A crosslinkable, pre-adhesive composition is described comprising an acid-functional (meth)acrylate copolymer and an aziridine crosslinking agent, which when crosslinked provides a pressure-sensitive adhesive and pressure-sensitive adhesive articles.
Abstract:
Microstructured optical films, assemblies of films including at least one microstructured optical film, and (e.g. illuminated) display devices including a single microstructured optical film or assembly.
Abstract:
Presently described are (e.g. brightness enhancing film) optical articles comprising the reaction product of a polymerizable resin and surface modified inorganic nanoparticles, methods of surface modifying inorganic nanoparticles, and surface modified inorganic nanoparticles. The surface treatment comprises at least one monocarboxylic acid having a refractive index of at least 1.50 and/or at least one monocarboxylic acid having a Mn of at least 200 g/mole and an ethylenically unsaturated group and/or at least one dicarboxylic acid.
Abstract:
Optical films having a polymerized microstructured surface are described. The polymerized microstructured surface comprises the reaction product of a polymerizable resin composition comprising 10% to 100 wt-% of at least one biphenyl di(meth)acrylate monomer. The di(meth)acrylate monomer comprises a core biphenyl structure having two aromatic rings connected with a C—C bond. The biphenyl di(meth)acrylate monomer preferably comprises a sufficient amount of ortho and/or meta(meth)acrylate substituents such that the monomer is a liquid at 25° C.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising a first monomer having the formula CH2═CHCOOR1, where R1 is a linear alkyl group having from 9 to 16 carbon atoms or a branched alkyl group having from 9 to 30 carbon atoms, and whose homopolymer has a Tg less than 0° C.; and/or a second monomer having the formula CH2═CHCOOR2, where R2 is an alkyl group having at least 9 carbon atoms whose homopolymer has a Tg greater than 15° C.; and a third component which may be another monomer, a polymer, surface-modified particles, or combinations thereof as well as article comprising the composition.
Abstract:
An ultraviolet light absorbing material that resists blooming and migration is made up of a carboxyl functional polymer and an amide functional ultraviolet light absorbing compound, wherein the carboxyl functional polymer and the amide functional ultraviolet light absorbing compound are hydrogen bonded to one another. Polymeric films that contain a polyolefin and the ultraviolet light absorbing material are useful as the top layer in multilayer constructions such as retroreflective sheetings and conformable marking sheets.

An ultraviolet light absorbing material that resists blooming and migration is made up of a fluoropolymer and an amide functional ultraviolet light absorbing compound, wherein the polymer and the amide functional ultraviolet light absorbing compound are hydrogen bonded to one another. Polymeric films that contain a polymeric matrix and the ultraviolet light absorbing material are useful as the top layer in multilayer constructions such as retroreflective sheetings and conformable marking sheets.
Abstract:
Described are optical products comprising a base and an optical layer. The optical layer is prepared from a polymerizable composition comprising an alkyl-substituted brominated phenolic ester(meth)acrylate monomer.
