摘要： An optical disc recording/playback apparatus is provided with a first AD converter 35 for shaping a push-pull signal 14 detected from an optical disc medium 1 by a light difference signal shaping circuit 21, and converting the signal into a digital sampling signal 38 using a sampling clock 37 synchronized with a channel frequency; a series of means for detecting wobble amplitude information 77 during recording from the digital sampling signal 38; a series of means for detecting address polarity information 60 and address position information during playback; and a recording laser power control circuit 113 for controlling a recording laser power to a power suited for recording on the basis of the wobble amplitude information.

Another light emitting device has a light emitting element and a phosphor layer that radiates fluorescent light while being excited by light emitted from the light emitting element. The phosphor layer is of phosphor particles and transparent inorganic binding layer to be formed between the neighboring phosphor particles.

摘要： A POS terminal apparatus is adapted to be connected to an external device. With an application running in the POS terminal apparatus, a device manager determines whether the external device is capable of counting a first value indicating a usage amount of the external device, and if so, the device manager acquires the first value from the external device in response to a first command from the application. A counter retains a second value indicating the usage amount of the external device and notifies the second value to the application in response to a second command from the application. If it is determined that the external device is not capable of counting the first value, the counter virtually counts the second value in accordance with a third command sent from the application to the external device. An updater updates the second value with a third value which is obtained by a fourth command from the application. The first value is retained even when the second value is updated with the third value.

摘要： A simplified control system provides a uniform interface to a Java-based POS application. A new interface defining a method SetEntry for passing an entry point to a database to a device service object is created in the device service object which loads this interface as a rule. This allows greater freedom designing the device service object and makes it possible to write better service objects. Device service objects for other manufacturers and other types of devices can also be loaded by a shared factory class, and a simpler JavaPOS system can be provided at low cost.

摘要： An ordinary-temperature purifying catalyst includes an oxide having an oxygen defect introduced by a reduction treatment, and a noble metal loaded on the oxide. For example, the oxide can be at least one oxide selected from the group consisting of cerium oxides and zirconium oxides, at least a part of which has an oxygen defect. The catalyst can purify an environmental loading material, such as carbon monoxide, a nitrogen oxide, ethylene, formaldehyde, trimethylamine, methyl mercaptan and acetaldehyde, in air at an ordinary temperature. A method for how to use the catalyst is also disclosed.
