Abstract:
A sequence of codes are provided for potential assignment to a user in a wireless hybrid time division multiple access (TDMA)/code division multiple access (CDMA) communication system. At least one timeslot is selected to support the communication. For each selected timeslot, at least one code is selected. If more than one code is selected, the selected codes are consecutive in the provided codes sequence. For at least one of the selected timeslots, an identifier of a first and last code of the selected consecutive codes is signaled. The user receives the signaled identifier and uses the selected consecutive codes, as identified, to support the communication.
Abstract:
A method of suppressing or curbing appetite and treating or preventing obesity comprising administering to a human or other mammal in need of such treatment an effective amount of plant material derived or derivable from plants of the genera Stapelia and Orbea.
Abstract:
A rolling shutter and a slat for use in a rolling shutter are provided. The slat comprises an engaging track located at a first edge and a receptacle track located at a second edge. Illustratively, the engaging track has a hook-shaped profile and is disposed at an acute angle relative to an adjacent part of the body portion, is disposed at an angle of less than 180° relative to a vertical axis of the slat, or has a hook-shaped profile that curves for more than 180°, and the receptacle track comprises a lip and a guard defining a space adapted to receive therein an engaging track of an adjacent slat.
Abstract:
Outgoing call log data associated with a call from a subscriber's terminal is provided by a system including a switch, which receives the call from the subscriber's terminal and launches a query in response to the call, and a service controller, which receives the query and forwards call data to an interface server in response to the query. The switch continues to process the telephone call after querying the service controller. The interface server obtains additional information from a directory database based on at least the received call data. An outgoing call log database receives and stores the call data and the additional information from the interface server as the outgoing call log data. A web server retrieves the outgoing call log data from the outgoing call log database, in response to a query from a web client, and displays the outgoing call log data at the web client.
Abstract:
A technique for registering image data is provided. The technique comprises accessing a plurality of image data sets comprising image data representative of a plurality of pixels. Then, a lung pleural region of interest is segmented within the image data of each data set. A plurality of pixel correspondences are identified within the segmented region of interest between the image data sets. The plurality of pixel correspondences are then aligned within the segmented region of interest between the data sets to generate registered image data sets, in which the lung pleural region of interest is registered between the plurality of image data sets.
Abstract:
A method and system for an enhanced uplink (EU) operation in a wireless communication system during soft handover. The system comprises a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), at least two Node-Bs, and a radio network controller (RNC). One Node-B may be designated as a primary Node-B, and the primary Node-B may control EU operation during soft handover including uplink scheduling and hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ). Soft buffer corruption is avoided during soft handover by controlling H-ARQ by the primary Node-B. Alternatively, an RNC may control EU operation during soft handover including H-ARQ. In this case, an RNC generates final acknowledge/non-acknowledge (ACK/NACK) decision based on the error check results of the Node-Bs.
Abstract:
A method for making a thermoplastic, thermally-conductive interface article is provided. The method used to make the interface article involves injection-molding a moldable composition into molding members. The moldable composition contains a base thermoplastic elastomer matrix, thermally-conductive filler material, and temperature-activated phase change material. The thermally-conductive articles can be used as thermal interfaces to dissipate heat from heat-generating electronic devices.
Abstract:
A paddle for use with a defibrillator, the paddle being formed of an applicator attached to a pad portion. The applicator includes a flexible plate, a handle attached to a top of the flexible plate, and an applicator connector disposed on a bottom of the flexible plate. The pad portion is electrically connected to the applicator, and includes a flexible backing that is shaped by the flexible plate, a pad portion connector disposed on the flexible backing to form a connection to the applicator connector, a lid attached to the flexible backing, and an adhesive conductive medium attached to a bottom of the flexible backing and removably encased by the lid. An electrical contact is disposed on the lid and is electrically connected to the pad portion and is exposed while the conductive medium is removably encased by the lid.
Abstract:
The instant invention is a rocker arm bridge support system for high performance engines. The bridge support system eliminates the compound geometry angular placement of valves with a rigid support structure using a common or segmented shaft for securing angular disposed rocker arms to accommodate the offset geometry. A bridge top secures the rocker arm shaft in a free floating manner by bolting of the bridge base directly to the cylinder head as well as the bridge top which is also bolted to the cylinder head by use of through apertures located in the bridge base. The invention includes the teaching of offset rocker arms mountable to the rocker arm shaft to accommodate the angular valve placement.
Abstract:
A rocker arm mounting stud assembly having a rocker arm mounting stud with adjustable rocker arm fixture mounting for use with a matching trunnion. Further provided is a radius roller tip rocker arm providing a third dimension principle by making the contact point of the diameter of the roller tip, a radius, lean on its pivoting access to control misalignment away from a two dimensional plane. A teaching of rocker arm geometry is provided for establishing precision measuring rules to facilitate the correct and precise installation of the rocker arm. Further provided is a one piece stud lock providing a direct pressure method of holding each rocker arm mounting stud with precise force providing overlapping components for retainment of each rocker arm mounting stud in a precision set predetermined position.
