摘要： A method is taught that provides for transmucosal delivery of a biological cargo and optical molecular imaging probes to a subject animal or human. At least one biological cargo-laden nanoparticle imaging probe is provided in a form that will be absorbed via mucosal tissue. The biological cargo-laden nanoparticle imaging probe is delivered to the mucosal tissue of the animal or human. The method further may include steps of providing a support member adapted to receive the subject in an immobilized state; positioning the subject on the support member; and after the delivering of the imaging probe, imaging the immobilized subject using a multimodal imaging system.

摘要： An apparatus for obtaining an image of a tooth having at least one light source providing incident light having a first spectral range for obtaining a reflectance image (122) from the tooth and a second spectral range for exciting a fluorescence image (120) from the tooth. A polarizing beamsplitter (18) in the path of the incident light from both sources directs light having a first polarization state toward the tooth and directs light from the tooth having a second polarization state along a return path toward a sensor (68), wherein the second polarization state is orthogonal to the first polarization state. A first lens (22) in the return path directs image-bearing light from the tooth toward the sensor (68), and obtains image data from the portion of the light having the second polarization state. A long-pass filter (15) in the return path attenuates light in the second spectral range.

摘要： A method for determining the appropriate dosage of a medication to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in an individual who has ADHD. The method comprises sampling the peripheral skin temperature of left and right like extremities of an individual during a predetermined time interval when the individual is in a sensory deprived state to provide respective left and right sampled peripheral skin temperature data, processing the sampled peripheral skin temperature data; processing the sampled peripheral skin temperature data including filtering, differentiation, and conversion to the frequency domain to derive spectral signatures whose magnitudes are indicative of the level of ADHD manifestation. The effectiveness of the medication is calculated by comparison to predetermined threshold values.
