摘要： When conference conditions are set by a conference sponsor, a conference sponsor agent inquires of schedule management agents of requested attendants about available time within a range of set dates, determines an optimum conference schedule on the basis of the available time of the individual requested attendants, sends to the conference sponsor the conference schedule for confirmation thereof, and sends a conference notification to the requested attendants. In order to permit an input value set by a user to have a range in accordance with the kind of parameter requiring the input value and conditions at that time, an input value acquiring element acquires an input value of a parameter necessary for a processing realized by an application element, the input value being set by the user by an input element. An allowable value determining element determines an allowable value to be added to the input value on the basis of information supplied from the application element and corresponding to the kind of the parameter and conditions at that time, and an allowable value adding element determines a different input value from the acquired input value by adding the allowable value to the acquired input value and delivers the acquired input value and the thus determined different input value, as input values of the parameter, to the application element.

摘要： The image processing performance of a present day or existing page printer, e.g., electrophotographic printer, is improved and accelerated with the use of a detachable intelligent cartridge which contains a CPU and necessary memory to process print data into image dated for the electronic control unit of the printer to which the cartridge is attached. Depending upon the page description language (PDL) to be employed, a cartridge can be selected for use with the printer and accelerate its PDL conversion and printing output. The intelligent cartridge CPU, which is different from the printer CPU, receives print data from the printer and, since the data bus connecting the intelligent cartridge and the electronic control unit of the printer has only a read only capability from the electronic control unit, data transfer to the cartridge is made possible by utilizing the print data as an index for the read address accomplished by the printer CPU. The bit image data is accomplished by the cartridge CPU from print data received via the printer CPU and after data development, the bit image data is transferred to the printer for hardcopy printout.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for drawing figures. The apparatus includes a memory apparatus for storing part figures having drawing order judging rules whereby a target figure is drawn, a selecting apparatus for selecting part figures from the memory apparatus according to the user's instructions, and an apparatus for determining the drawing order based on the drawing order rules of a plurality of part figures that were selected from the memory apparatus. The part figures including a given figure are stored in the memory apparatus along with their respective drawing order rules. A second apparatus is provided whereby these part figures are searched for and transferred into a temporary memory area in accordance with the user's instructions. A drawing order determining apparatus determines drawing orders based on the drawing order rules of the user-selected part figures transferred into the temporary memory area. The part figures are drawn on a display unit in accordance with the drawing orders thus determined.

摘要： A thermal transfer printer has a platen and a thermal head between which are pinched a transfer paper sheet and an ink film, so that the ink is transferred from the ink film to the transfer paper sheet as heat is applied to the transfer paper sheet by the thermal head. The film is supplied by a supply roll and is taken-up by a take-up roll. The thermal head is swingable between a position where it contracts the platen and a position away from the platen. When the thermal head is in the position away from the platen, the distance therebetween is greater than the maximum diameter of the supply roll. A film drum can hold a plurality of films each being constituted by the supply roll and the take-up roll. Swing arms are provided for demounting the supply roll of a selected film from the film drum and for bringing the same to a position away from the film drum, and also for returning the same from this position to the film drum. During the movement of the supply roll between the position in the film drum and the position away from this position, the thermal head is moved away from the platen so as not to hinder the movement of the supply roll.
