摘要: A lighting system including a plurality of luminaires capable of generating polychromatic light having a dominant wavelength in the visible spectrum and arranged into an array and a computerized device electrically coupled to the plurality of luminaires so as to selectively operate each individual luminaire to produce source light varying with each other and with time. The computerized device operates the luminaire such that each luminaire emits a source light, the source lights combining to form a combined light having selected characteristics. The source lights, when perceived directly, recreate a lighting scenario having varying lighting characteristics.

摘要: A remote light wavelength conversion device is provided for converting a source light emitted from a light source within a source wavelength range into a converted light within a converted wavelength range. The remote light wavelength conversion device may include a waveguide and a color conversion optic. The waveguide may include a first end and a second end and the color conversion optic may be adjacently located at the second end of the waveguide. The color conversion optic may convert the source light transmitted through the waveguide to the converted light. The waveguide may be a fiber having a core diameter of less than about ten micrometers.

摘要: A luminaire for use in a lighting apparatus comprising a plurality of luminaires and a computerized device comprising a plurality of lights and a controller configured to communicate with the computerized device, and coupled to the plurality of lights, and configured to operate the luminaire to emit source light, the source light being characterized by a dominant source light wavelength that varies with time within a range from 390 nanometers to 750 nanometers. The controller is configured to operate the plurality of lights to emit a source light with a different dominant source light wavelength than the source light of another luminaire in the lighting apparatus and combine with the source light emitted by the at least one other luminaire to form a combined light at a distance from the luminaire, receive a lighting scenario from the computerized device, and operate the luminaire responsive to the lighting scenario.

摘要: A luminaire is for use in a lighting apparatus that includes a plurality of luminaires and a computerized device. The luminaire includes a plurality of lights and a controller. The luminaire is operated to emit source light characterized by a dominant source light wavelength within a range from 390 nanometers to 750 nanometers, and with a different dominant source light wavelength than the source light of at least one other luminaire in the lighting apparatus, and such that the source light emitted by the luminaire is combined with the source light emitted by the at least one other luminaire to form a combined light. The dominant source light wavelength of the luminaire is variable with time, and the controller operates the plurality of LEDs such that a color temperature of the combined light does not vary more than 5% across the length and width of the area of illumination while the dominant source wavelength varies with time.

摘要: A thoroughfare lighting device includes a housing to be attached to a thoroughfare surface, and including sidewalls that taper. A plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) selectively illuminate individual lanes, including a first set of LEDs to emit a generally white light, and a second set of LEDs to emit colored light that is observable by an observer. A driver circuit operates the second set of LEDs to emit colored light illuminating a single lane indicating a condition of the individual lane. Optics may be carried by the housing and positioned in optical communication with at least a portion of the plurality of LEDs. A traffic sensor communicatively coupled to the driver circuit and configured to sense a traffic pattern and generate information regarding traffic on the associated thoroughfare. The driver circuit is configured to operate the plurality of LEDs responsive to the information generated by the traffic sensor.

摘要: An adaptive light system including a color matching engine, a controller, and a plurality of light sources each configured to emit a source light. The color matching engine determines a dominant wavelength of a selected color, and a combination of the light sources that the controller may operate to emit a combined wavelength that approximately matches the dominant wavelength of the selected color. A color capture device transmits a source color signal designating the selected color. A method of adapting light comprises receiving a selected color, converting a value representing a dominant wavelength of the selected color, determining a combination of and percentages of colors emitted by the plurality of light sources that may be combined to form an adapted light that matches the selected color, and operating the light sources along with a white light to emit the adapted light.
