    摘要: In a non-machining method for manufacturing a solid-bottomed or internally flanged bearing race, especially for rolling contact bearings, the starting material is in the form of a band. For the economical manufacture of this bearing race with an annular groove of extremely precise cross-sectional shape which reduces the wall thickness of the bearing race, and which is situated at the transition from the bottom or flange portion to the race portion, a flat roundel is first stamped from the band. Then a concentric annular groove is worked into one of the planar surfaces of the roundel, while the opposite planar surface thereof is supported on a planar supporting surface. Lastly, the roundel is deep-drawn in a die to form a bearing race having a solid bottom. The end face of the drawing punch concentrically engages the roundel's planar surface that is encompassed by the annular groove. This end face has a diameter that is equal to or greater than the diameter of the radially inner edge of the annular grooves and smaller than the diameter of the radially outer edge of the annular groove.

    摘要: The present invention is a device for securing a shaft or the like in a hub, wherein an annular groove is provided on the shaft or in the hub to accommodate an elastic securing ring of round cross-section. A shoulder is provided on the hub or shaft radially facing the annular groove and the hub or shaft has an adjusting member displaceable in axial direction with a conical face axially facing the shoulder. This face together with the shoulder forms an annular recess widening towards the opening of the groove. The floor of the annular groove on the side of the adjusting member is at a radial distance from the shaft or hub at least as great as the thickness of the securing ring.

    摘要: A linear motion ball bearing having an outer sleeve and a cylindrical ball-guide cage with endless rows of balls axially movable on a central shaft, the cage defining for each row a main guideway for loaded balls engaged by a race plate and a return guideway for unloaded balls, this race plate situated partially in a recess extending radially inward in the cage and partially in a depression extending radially outward in an adjacent portion of the bore surface of the outer sleeve. During assembly of the bearing the race plates are movable radially inward when the cage is inserted axially into the bore of the outer sleeve, and the race plates are moved radially outward into the depressions of the sleeve when balls are inserted in the cage's guideways.

    摘要: A sliding seal ring for a drill bit comprising at least one cutter rotatably mounted on a journal forming part of the drill bit body. The seal ring is made of elastic metallic strip material and is of spiral configuration with the spirals in overlapping relation. The seal ring is mounted under axial tension between the pocket in an edge ring and the drill bit body and rotates with the cutter. In one form of the invention, the spirals are in abutting relation to provide a complete seal. In another form the spirals are open to define gaps permitting flow of flushing liquid to cool and lubricate the bearings supporting the cutter on the trunnion.

The inner bearing ring has a radial outwardly directed flange serving as means to secure the bearing to the roll casing and a flange extending radially inwardly from the race confronting a sleeve mounted on the axle. The outer bearing ring has an annular ring flange facing inwardly to the bearing axle confronting the radial flange of the inner bearing ring and terminating in an annular shoulder running axially for fastening to the axle. A sleeve circumscribes the axle and has a radially outwardly directed rib which forms with the inner bearing ring an annular chamber for a sealing agent. A seal with flocked fibers is interposed between the confronting inner flanges of the inner and outer bearing rings.

    摘要: A rotary drill bit having a plurality of cutters, each rotatably mounted on a trunnion. The bearing support includes a friction bearing consisting of a cup member of half-moon shape preferably made of an oil soaked sintered material. The outer surface of the cup engages the bore of the cutter and forms the non-loaded part of the slip surface in the unloaded zone of the friction bearing. The cup is mounted in a manner retaining the cutter against axial displacement from the trunnion. Biasing means between the cup and trunnion presses the cup against the cutter bore and compensates for wear of the cup.
