摘要: The present invention provides a stent assembly for expanding a bodily passage in a patient and draining a fluid therefrom. The assembly comprises at least one expandable stent and an elongated carrier for delivery or retrieval of the stent. The stent is circumferentially attached to a distal end of the carrier. The carrier defines at least two concentric lumens therethrough, a drainage lumen in fluid communication with the bodily passage for drainage of the fluid and an inflation lumen in fluid communication with the expandable stent. The invention also provides a method of expanding a bodily passage in a patient and draining a fluid therefrom. The method comprises providing a stent assembly of the present invention; inserting a guidewire into the bodily passage through the drainage lumen of the carrier; advancing the assembly along the guidewire until the assembly reaches a desired location; expanding the stent; and draining the fluid through drainage lumen of the carrier.

摘要: A detection and guide system provides access to desired blood vessel locations. An implant formed of a biocompatible material is implanted within a mammalian body proximate an outer surface of a blood vessel. The detection and guide system may be configured to be positioned outside the mammalian body to detect the implant and to guide a needle to the desired entry site of the biological boundary structure. A needle guide may be coupled to a housing of the detection and guide system and directed at an angle such that positioning the implant detector over the implant aligns an opening through the needle guide with the desired entry site. The detection and guide system may, for example, provide metal detection of a metallic implant or magnetic detection of a magnetic implant.

摘要: A graft deployment system, comprises an elongate, flexible catheter body, having a proximal end and a distal end and comprising an outer sheath and an inner core that is axially moveable with respect to the outer sheath. A main vessel graft restraint comprising a first peelable cover for restrains a main vessel portion of a graft. In a bifurcated graft, a first branch vessel graft restraint restrains a first branch vessel portion of the graft. A second branch vessel graft restraint restrains a second branch vessel portion of the graft. The first peelable cover is coupled to a main branch release element and wherein each of the main vessel graft restraint, first branch vessel graft restraint, and the second branch vessel graft restraint are positioned within the catheter body in a graft loaded condition.

摘要: Systems, methods and devices are provided for improving the hemodynamic efficiency of a patient's heart by implanting one or more reinforcement elements on or with the heart and providing electrical stimulation to the heart. The reinforcement elements may include magnetic and/or shape memory material and are configured to reshape the heart so as to boost the heart's mechanical energy during a response to the electrical stimulation. In some embodiments, at least one reinforcement element includes an electrode configured to sense electrocardiogram signals within the heart. An electrical stimulation device such as an implantable or external pacemaker/defibrillator may be configured to control delivery of electrical pulses to the heart based on the sensed electrocardiogram signals. In addition, or in other embodiments, at least one reinforcement element includes an electrode configured to deliver the electrical pulses to the heart.
