    摘要: A tool for working a workpiece has a slot provided between a pair of extremities at its distal end. The extremities have cutting blades mounted thereon. The slot is configured to receive a plate. The tool has a conduit running along its axis for communication of pressurized fluid to the slot and plate. The plate directs flow of the pressurized fluid outward toward the extremities. The resulting outward force causes the extremities to bend outward, thereby urging the cutting blades outward for cutting, reaming, or other working of the workpiece. The resilience of the tool causes the extremities to return back inward when the fluid pressure is reduced. A plate may be configured to receive a wafer for transferring force from the pressurized fluid to the extremities.

    摘要: A boring tool is equipped with a radially adjustable clutter element, and a remotely-operated mechanism for adjusting the cutter element between its active and inactive positions. During movement of the tool into a hole in a work piece the adjustable cutter element is inactive; the cutting operation is performed by one or more non-adjustable cutter elements. When the tool holder reaches the limit of its penetration into the work piece the remote adjusting mechanism is operated to move the adjustable cutter element radially outwardly to an active cutting position. During return movement of the holder out of the work piece the adjustable cutter element performs a finish machining operation on the hole surface.

    摘要: A tool is described for boring spherically curved inner surfaces consisting of a main body which rotates about its longitudinal axis during the boring operation. A swivel housing is mounted on an axle bolt in the main body and can thus be swiveled about an axis at right angles to the longitudinal axis. The swivel motion is produced with the aid of a linkage arrangement provided in the tool. A cutting tool holder is guided for longitudinal displacement in the swivel housing at right angles to the axle bolt. The cutting tool holder is supported lateral wedge surfaces on a mating wedge surface of the axle bolt and extends with a shank part through the axle bolt. With the aid of a compression spring and an adjusting screw, the axle bolt can be displaced in the longitudinal direction relative to the cutting tool holder to adjust the radial spacing of the cutter from the axle bolt by the mating wedge surface.
