Abstract: A composition of matter has a molecularly imprinted polymer having templated pores, and a reactive material occupying a portion of each pore, the reactive material selected to react when an analyte material for which the cavities are templated enters the cavities. A method of synthesizing a molecularly imprinted polymer includes arranging monomers around a template molecule having a reactive component and an analyte component, polymerizing the monomers, removing the template molecule, and reintroducing the reactive component of the template molecule. A method of detecting an analyte includes exposing a molecularly imprinted polymer to a fluid, the polymer having templated pores containing a detector material that is reactive to an analyte.

A method of printing a composition of matter includes producing the composition of matter by combining epoxy functionalized graphene, carbon nanotubes, epoxy base resin, and a curing agent, extrusion printing the composition of matter into a desired pattern, and curing the pattern.

Abstract: A method of three-dimensional manufacturing including depositing a layer of powder in a powder bed, the layer comprising particles of at least a first component of a two-component reactive material, dispensing a first solution containing at least one of a solvent and a second component of the two-component reactive material the solvent selected to cause the two components to form one or more cross-linked regions of a three-dimensional object, iterating the depositing and dispensing to form subsequent layers of the three-dimensional object until the object is formed, and removing any unwanted particles from the object. A three-dimensional manufacturing system has a powder bed to hold layers of particles, and one or more print heads positioned to dispense liquid onto the powder bed to cause the particles for form one or more cross-linked regions in layers of a solid object.

Abstract: A polymer aerogel has polymerizable monomers and crosslinkers, wherein at least one of the monomers or at least one of the crosslinkers has a refractive index of less than 1.5, and the polymer aerogel has a visible transmittance of at least 20%/3 mm, a haze of 50%/3 mm or lower, and a porosity of at least 10%. A method of producing an aerogel includes dissolving precursors into a solvent, wherein the precursors include monomers, crosslinkers, a controlling agent and an initiator to form a precursor solution, wherein at least one of the monomers or at least one of the crosslinkers has a refractive index of 1.5 or lower, polymerizing the precursor solution to form a gel polymer, and removing the solvent from the gel polymer to produce an aerogel polymer.
