Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). The present invention provides a method for supporting handover, comprising the steps of: informing, by a source base station, a core network whether a direct data forwarding path is available; deciding, by the core network, whether to use direct data forwarding or indirect data forwarding; informing, by the core network, a target base station of information about the direct data forwarding or indirect data forwarding; allocating, by the target base station, data forwarding tunnel information, the target base station allocating the data forwarding tunnel information according to the received information about the direct data forwarding or indirect data forwarding; transmitting, by the target base station, the allocated data forwarding tunnel information to the core network; and informing, by the core network, the source base station of the data forwarding tunnel information. With the present invention, different data forwarding methods are supported to prevent data loss and ensure service continuity.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided in a wireless communication system. A first message is transmitted, from a master base station, to a secondary base station, for requesting the secondary base station to allocate resources for a dual connectivity (DC) operation. A second message is received from the secondary base station, after transmitting the first message. A third message is transmitted to the secondary base station, after receiving the second message. The first message includes a quality of service (QoS) flow identifier (ID) and available data radio bearer (DRB) IDs. The second message includes the QoS flow ID and a DRB ID corresponding to the QoS flow ID. The third message includes tunnel information for the DRB ID including an Internet protocol (IP) address and a tunnel endpoint identifier (TEID).

Abstract: The present application discloses a method and eNB equipment for supporting seamless handover. The method comprises the following steps of: receiving, by a target eNB, random access information or an RRC connection reconfiguration completion message from a UE; transmitting, by the target eNB, a data transmission stopping indication message to a source eNB; and, stopping, by the source eNB, transmitting downlink data to the UE, and/or stopping, by the source eNB, receiving uplink data from the UE. The present invention further provides several other methods and eNB equipments for supporting seamless handover. By the methods for supporting seamless handover provided by the present invention, the delay of data transmission and the unnecessary data transmission or unnecessary data monitoring of a source eNB can be avoided, the waste of resources and the power consumption can be reduced, and the missing and duplication transmission of data can be avoided.
