Abstract: A network device receives location information for a user equipment device (UE), an application identifier (ID), and a latency requirement associated with a data session involving the UE. The network device retrieves from a database, based on the UE's location information, the application ID, and the latency requirement, Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) selection weight values associated with multiple MEC platforms. The network device selects a MEC platform, from among the multiple MEC platforms, based on the retrieved MEC selection weight values, and causes the data session to be established between the selected MEC platform and the UE.

Abstract: An Internet of Things (IoT) device may receive a network configuration profile including one or more parameters relating to a scan interval and a mode priority of the IoT device indicating a priority for a first IoT network over a second IoT network. The IoT device may scan for an availability of the first IoT network. Based on determining that the first IoT network is unavailable, the IoT device may scan for an availability of the second IoT network. Based on determining that the second IoT network is available, the IoT device may initiate a network connection with the second IoT network. While connected to the second IoT network, the IoT device may scan for the availability of the first IoT network. Based on determining that the first IoT network is available, the IoT device may initiate a network connection with the first IoT network.

Abstract: Systems and method are provided for a temporary network slice usage barring service within a core network. A network device in the core network receives a slice barring information message for an application function (AF). The slice barring information message includes a unique subscriber identifier associated with a user equipment (UE) device to be barred from a network slice and indicates a barring expiration time. The network device stores barring parameters based on the slice barring information message. The barring parameters include a slice identifier associated with the AF, the unique subscriber identifier, and the barring expiration time. The network device sends a barring instruction message to another network device associated with the network slice. The barring instruction message includes the unique subscriber identifier and the barring expiration time. The other network device enforces temporary barring of the UE device from the network slice based on the barring instruction message.

The network device may perform a second admission control procedure to determine whether to allow the user equipment device to connect to the network. The second admission control procedure is based on the slice associated with the user equipment device. The network device may allocate network resources to the user equipment device in response to determining to allow the user equipment device to connect to the network.

Abstract: A device of a network may receive, from a network device of the network, data identifying a radio access technology (RAT) type associated with a user equipment of the network, an extended discontinuous reception (eDRX) timer associated with the user equipment, and a power saving mode (PSM) timer associated with the user equipment. The device may store the data identifying the RAT type, the eDRX timer, and the PSM timer, and may provide, to an application server, a notification that includes the data identifying the RAT type, the eDRX timer, and the PSM timer. The data identifying the RAT type, the eDRX timer, and the PSM timer may cause the application server to control or troubleshoot the user equipment.

The network device may calculate a network slice load value based on the network slice usage value. The network device may also provide the network slice load value to other network devices of a core network, such as a network slice selection function (NSSF) and/or a policy control function (PCF).
