摘要: An animal deterrent device includes an elongated carrier having an internal cavity. A conductive trace can be coupled to the carrier by a first fastener that extends from the conductive trace to the cavity, which prevents water from contacting the fastener and shorting the conductive trace.

摘要: The system and method of detection of low flying animals, such as birds, bats, and insects, and more particularly the detection of low flying animals using a radar system to detect the animals in three-dimensional airspace. The radar system produces narrowly focused radar pulses. The radar system comprises a single radar unit, an A/D proceeding apparatus, an A/D conversion apparatus, and a pan/tilt controlled base platform. The system and method further producing an avoidance response in an animal, and more particularly, producing an avoidance response by illuminating the animal with ultraviolet light.

摘要: The invention described herein is a framed fluid delivery device that is made up of a fluid-delivery cartridge for the timed-release delivery of a fluid contained therein, and a frame assembly for retaining the fluid delivery cartridge. The frame assembly is made up of a base portion that facilitates the delivery of fluid released from the fluid-delivery cartridge, at least one side panel associated with the base, and that secures the fluid-delivery cartridge within the frame assembly proximate the released fluid delivering means. Additionally, a fluid delivery device is disclosed that includes a fluid-delivery cartridge for the timed-release delivery of a fluid contained therein, the cartridge having a bottom, a top, and sides, and a dispersion pad positioned proximate the bottom of the fluid-delivery cartridge, wherein the dispersion pad at least partially surrounds the sides of the fluid-delivery cartridge.

摘要: An artificial grass surface (10) suited for bordering a runway (12) of an airfield in order to reduce the presence of birds in the airfield. The artificial grass surface (10) includes a pile fabric (14) having a plurality of pile elements (20) extending from a backing mat (18) and resembling grass. A water barrier (24) is provided for preventing water from percolating to the compacted soil surface. An infilled particulate material (22) is dispersed among the pile elements (20). A stabilizer is provided to resist dislodgment of the infilled particulate material (22) at the edges of the runways by the thrust of jet engines and to keep the particulate material (22) in the pile elements (20) when the edges of the runways are vacuumed to remove silt.

摘要: A method and apparatus is provided for controlling the location in which herbivore fowl populations congregate by altering the behavior of the fowl through the combination of providing a strong disincentive to populate areas where the presence of the fowl is not desired and a strong incentive to populate a proximate area where the presence of fowl can be tolerated. For herbivore waterfowl, and in particular Canada geese, the adjacent area also provides the waterfowl with a means of egress to water as an escape from predators and other perceived threats. The method uses a deterrent in the form of adulterated feed to dissuade the herbivore fowl from congregating in areas in which their presence is not desired and the use of an attractant in the form of non-adulterated feed to encourage the herbivore fowl to congregate in a proximate area in which their presence can be tolerated.
