Abstract:
A filtering device comprises a cylindrical member bored with a large number of holes; a sheet-like filter element crosswise folded like bellows and rolled into a cylindrical form so as to concentrically surround the bored cylindrical member and a plurality of thin band-shaped liquid passage plates interposed between every adjacent folded portions of the inner wall of the filter element, and wherein each liquid passage plate has both surfaces made irregular and further its width chosen to be equal to or larger than the height of the projecting folded portion of the sheet-like filter element. At least one annular support band surrounds the outer periphery of the filter element defined by the apexes of the folded projections. An adhesive applied to the inner peripheral wall of said annular support band permits the support band to hold the folded projections in position and also permeates the apexes of the folded portions, thereby fixing the inner walls of the apexes to the outer edges of the passage plates.
Abstract:
An annular filter pack of longitudinally folded filter paper has a plurality of longitudinally spaced bands of adhesive resin disposed around the inside periphery so as to accurately position the inside folds and dimensionally stabilize the filter pack. The filter pack is incorporated into filter cartridges which may be used to filter a variety of fluids.
Abstract:
A filter element has a sheet of filter media having a first elongate edge and a second elongate edge. The sheet of filter media defines a plurality of pleats, a first set of pleat folds and a second set of pleat folds, where each of the plurality of pleats extend between the first set of pleat folds and the second set of pleat folds. The first set of pleat folds each extend from the first elongate edge to the second elongate edge, and the second set of pleat folds each extend from the first elongate edge to the second elongate edge. Each of the plurality of pleats defines a repeating wave pattern of flute peaks and flute valleys alternating from the first set of pleat folds to the second set of pleat folds. Each of the flute peaks and flute valleys extend from the first elongate edge to the second elongate edge.
Abstract:
Filter cartridge arrangements, features thereof and assembly for use therewith, are provided. Selected filter cartridge features are disclosed. Methods of assembly and systems for use are described.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a filtering panel (100) for a disk filter and a disk filter for water purification, comprising a metal filter cloth (16, 116) such as a stainless steel filter cloth, pre-tensioned in both warp and weft directions and fastened to a frame (10, 110) comprising a peripheral portion (11, 111), which is integral with an inner grillwork (12) and which divides the inner area of the peripheral portion (11, 111) into fields (15, 115). The frame (10, 110) comprises a plastic material reinforced with glass fibers or carbon fibres such as polypropylene loaded with fibreglass in an amount of at least 20 weight percent. Each field of the grillwork (12, 112) has an area not exceeding 10% of the inner area of the peripheral portion (11, 111). The pre-tensioning of the filter cloth (16, 116) in both directions is from at least 20% of the yield stress of the cloth (16, 116). Further the present invention relates to a disk filter comprising said filtering panels (100) and method of making said filtering panel (100).
Abstract:
A pleated filter includes a filter base having folds that repeatedly form mountains and valleys and having a cylindrical shape whose axial direction is a ridge line direction of the folds. The pleated filter includes, in a valley projecting to the inside of the cylindrical shape, a bonded reinforcing portion extending in the ridge line direction of the folds.
Abstract:
A filter insert for a filter for filtering a fluid having] an inflow surface, and outflow surface, and a main throughflow direction. A filter body of the insert has a filter medium with pleats forming a pleated bellows, are arranged perpendicular to the main throughflow direction. A first number of the pleat edges form the outflow surface and a second number of the pleat edges on a pre-filtration side of the filtration body form the outflow surface. A first seal prevents the fluid from overflowing from the pre-filtration side to the post-filtration on a surface formed by a first number of of end face of the pleats. A second seal prevents the fluid from overflowing from the pre-filtration side to the post-filtration side on a surface formed by a second number of end faces of the pleats.
Abstract:
A pleated filter includes a filter base having folds that repeatedly form peak portions and valley portions and having a shape of a cylinder whose axial direction is a ridge line direction of the folds, and a reinforcing sheet disposed in a valley portion viewed from the inside of the shape of the cylinder. The reinforcing sheet includes a first reinforcing sheet located on a back side of a fold forming a projection toward the outer circumferential side of the shape of the cylinder and a second reinforcing sheet located in a spacing between adjacent folds forming projections toward the inner circumferential side of the shape of the cylinder. The first reinforcing sheet and the second reinforcing sheet are disposed apart from each other in a depth direction of pleats of the pleated filter.
Abstract:
Filter cartridge arrangements, features thereof and assembly for use therewith, are provided. Selected filter cartridge features disclosed are particularly well adapted for use with a safety or secondary filter cartridge, usable with media thereof projecting into an open interior of a main filter cartridge, in use. An example filter cartridge is described, with a non-pleated end and a pleated end, although variations are also described. Advantageous main cartridges are also described. Methods of assembly and systems for use are described.
